Today I thought I'd write a blog post with 10 things you may need to hear today. Share it, read it and feel free to comment with anything you'd add.

1. You don’t have to have your life figured out - It always feels as if we have to have our lives figured out, everything goes full speed ahead, but you don’t need to, whether you’re 18, 21, 25 or even 30. At school, we’re kind of forced to study certain things and then pushed into a seemingly normal routine e.g., University, to a grad job… don’t worry if you’ve done things differently or, if you’ve followed that path and you don’t really know what to do with your life yet. I have friends who were married at 20 and by 23 have two kids, equally, I have friends who are 23 and are still travelling or friends who are 25 and have packed their jobs in to see the world. Everyone takes a different path and that's okay. It's so cliche but you do have to 'find yourself' and figure out what works for you.

2. It’s okay to not know what you want to do in life - Similar to the above, but it’s totally okay if you haven’t figured that out yet. It's like at school when they say 'what do you want to be when you're older'. I never really knew what I wanted to be. One day it was a magazine editor, then it was a lawyer, then interior designer, then lecturer. I saw someone tweet saying they wanted to train up as a paramedic, years after doing a completely different degree. It's never too late to change and do something you love. Similarly, I’ve met people who are trained lawyers but decide they want to be beauticians. It’s about what makes you happy and it may take time to figure out what you really want to be. There is no right or wrong.

3. Don’t compare yourself - Never compare. We are all guilty of it, I’m guilty of it big style but you don’t know someones story. It's like when people message me and say 'your life is perfect', my life is not perfect at all, but we choose to share certain things on social media and people don't know the half of it (read my blog post: is social media dangerous?) You cannot judge one chapter of your life to someone elses. Everyone has different situations, different goals. There's always someone in a better and worse situation than you . Just do you.

4. Rainy days make flowers - It may feel like the end of the world but it’s probably not. Ask yourself if what you’re fretting about will matter in a weeks time or a months time? It probably won’t.

5. The world is both bad and good - I felt so sad last night reading about the Las Vegas shootings, I cannot get my head around the awful things going on in our world. Not just Vegas, but in all corners of our world. It’s important to spread kindness and love where you can because the world can be horrible. Sprinkle it everywhere. Be kind, you never know what battle someone is facing.

6. You have the power to make someones day - Use your power! Whether you smile at someone down the street or tell a stranger you like their coat. How about just sending a text to an old friend asking how they are? Little things really can make someones day.

7. You're allowed to moan - We get a lot of stick (particularly online) for moaning about trivial things (there are of course, dreadful things going on in the world), but what's trivial to someone else may mean a lot to you and it's totally okay to have a bad day and have a little moan but it's how you pick yourself up again and put life into perspective that matters. It doesn't mean you don't care about bad things going on in the world. We all just have 'those days'. Get it out of your system and then write down a list of things you do love about your life/you are grateful for/you like about yourself.

8. You're doing good - Incase no-one told you today, you are wonderful and you're doing great. Just keep doing you.

9. Don't beat yourself up - If you were 5 minutes late to work, missed the bus or didn't have time for the gym. It's okay to have a day off and have a day of resting. Me time is so important, I work out for wellbeing and mind nowadays, it's that me-time. Read why wellbeing workouts are important. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Some people would do anything to be here, alive and 5 mins late to work or miss the gym.

10. It's okay not to be perfect - Define perfect? What's perfect to me may be imperfect to you. It's totally okay 'not to be perfect' so don't sweat the idea of perfection. I felt like such a failure last week because I just couldn't get on top of my work. I was behind on things and I pride myself on working hard and being on time but I was busy trying to look after my Grandad who's had a serious accident which meant my whole family need support right now. Sometimes life just gets in the way and deadlines don't really matter in the grand scheme of things but health and family do.

So there we have it. If you needed this today, I hope it helped. Please do share if you think it may help someone else! Comment with any tips you have like the above!
