Eyes-Window to the-Soul; Mascara reviews and Eye lash inspirations

Tuesday Evening - As promised, here are some mascara reviews for you all. The eyes are the window to the soul (apparently!) and to be honest if someone has pretty eyes then it can do a lot for them :) Here are some gorgeous eye pictures and then my reviews of mascaras and false eye lashes. If you're like me, mascara is a necessity. I feel like I look 'dead' without it, I look like a complete different person so I have bared all in order to show you my fave mascaras. Enjoy:)

More Natural;

Me and Mascara;

Top Mascaras;
Here are the mascaras that are currently in my make up bag. Afterwards I will talk you through the ones that I still need to buy the previous ones that I have had :)

W7 FLIRTY EYES - Bought just for my media film as I asked my mum to get me a 'rubbish cheap' mascara! That's just there because I don't like throwing new things in the bin.
MAC OpuLash
MAC Plush lash
MAC Zoom lash
MAC Splashproof lash
Lancome Hypnose

Sorry for the vast amount of Mac mascaras that I currently own.
I really need to start varying my selection!

The brushes - left to right.
1. MAC Splash proof lash
2. MAC Optimum lash
3. MAC Zoom lash
4. MACPlush lash
5. Lancome Hypnose

1. Mac Plush lash.
I have tested this first because it is the mascara that I apply first, everytime.
I know that it isn't voluminous I just think it separates the lashes out nicely so I always apply this then apply another one over it. Sorry for the bad photo quality.
What they say; 'A mascara formulated to instantly plump up lashes for extreme voluptuous effect. Works fast. Builds volume smoothly and evenly from root to tip. Delivers a silky, flexible, full fan of lashes. Fluid formula lightly coats lashes one layer at a time without smearing, smudging or clumping. Goes on via an innovative, specially patented wand with a v-shaped groove that prunes the bristles on one side while leaving the other side full and lush. The short bristles coax the lashes upward to an extraordinarily sophisticated yet flirtatious curl, while the other side separates and combs the lashes root-to-tip creating a long, well-defined glamour lash. Volumizing, lengthening, curling, lifting. This mascara features everything you want, with all the top mascara no's: no clumping, spiking, smudging or flaking.'

I do agree that it is even from root to tip and gives a full fan of lashes. I only put one layer on underneath hence it looking a bit rubbish. The brush it really thick so it gives good curls.

2.Mac Zoom Lash
I tested this next because this is the mascara that I put onto of the Plush Lash.
As you can see, it is very bold. I only put two layers on and it can go a lot thicker than this.
Please bare in mind that my camera is rubbish quality and after having eyelash extensions my eyelashes aren't in the best condition so this mascara does usually look much better.
What they say; 'The fast-to-act drama of creamy, velvety Zoom Lash in a tear/sweat/humidity/waterproof formula. Curls and lengthens with flexible, sculpted application - everything you love about the original is here. Provides up to 12 hours of smudge-proof wear! '
'Major drama. Lasts all day. Creamy, velvety formula builds density and conditions. Feels light, supple. Ultra-sculpted brush has three-sided fibres to embrace and separate each lash, hugging every curve. Coats in one stroke from root to tip. No smudging.'

The new formula is water proof which for me makes this mascara so much better! wooo! It looks horrible on my picture but I promise you this is the best mascara you can buy. I've been wearing it for years and most people I know swear by it. If you want to put a bit of darkness into your eyes this is the mascara for you. I love the brush it's so easy and wet because of it's velvet texture!

3. MAC Splashproof Lash
I bought this mascara in the airport about 3 years ago and haven't replaced it. I probably should have as it's most likely well out of date but who cares it still works! I read review after review, after review of the best waterproof mascaras because I was going on holiday with my boyfriend and didn't want to look horrible on the beach. This was on none of the reviews; why? God knows. It is the best. It literally doest smudge on the beach or in the sea, it's fab. I'm sure the woman who sold me it told me that Pamela Anderson among others wears it. I know that people swear by this. My only annoyance and problem with it is that it is quite clumpy so I'm excited that they've brought out the fabulous Zoom lash in a waterproof formula! YES!

4.Mac Opulash
I saw that this was a new product and put it on my Christmas list. To be honest I don't ever really use it because I have too many other mascaras. However, after trialling it tonight next to my Zoom Lash there isn't that much of a difference. The only difference i'd say is the intensity and the fact that you have to put more layers on to get it to look like ZoomLash.
I also prefer the packaging of this product. Although it's a tacky silver colour, well not tacky as it's a dark silver but I generally just don't like silver on packaging...it's shiny and means that my other make up doesn't ruin it. Because all other Mac products are matte black they get stained easily and go really grubby really quickly which annoys me so the packaging of this product makes it better.

What they say; 'Big, fat, full, bouffant lashes! Dramatic density and curl achieved with a giant brush! Fibres go in all directions for thick, rich, even application with no clumping. Long-wearing formula – up to 15 hours – quickly thickens lashes, root to tip. Contains natural beeswax.'

This is so true and I think this may have just made it one of my new faves. However, it isn't as black as zoom lash so it isn't quite as dramatic but it still gives the length.

Can you spot the difference? no me neither!

5. Mac Opulash vs w7 flirty eyes
So I really expected this W7 mascara to be crap quite frankly! As I am a bit of a mascara snob and always go for the expensive ones. How wrong could I be. If you look on the left hand side, look how nice it is! It makes my eyelashes so long and defined. I may have to use this more often! I think it was £1.99 and you can  buy it from any Market stall or the make up shop called XTRAS. Bargain!

  Hypnose - Lancome
Here is my mum modelling this mascara.
She doesn't have very long eye lashes naturally and only put one coat on. You can see how defining it is compared to her natural lashes. She gets a lot of compliments when she wears this.
HINT! If you're going to buy it wait until Christmas! It comes in a gift set with an eye liner and an eye make up remover with  a full sized mascara for £18.00 which is the usual price of the mascara by itself I think!
What they say;'Volume builds up. Lashes sparkle. A concentrate of beautiful, intense pigments adoms your lashes, which appear to have up to 6 times more volume. '

They are right, this is a seriously good mascara.

5. Glam Eyes Mascara - Rimmel London
I bought this cheaply from XTRAS as I think it may have been discontinued. It's so good to have tucked in your bag to top up your mascara in the day. It's so lengthening as well!

What they say:''Glam’eyes delivers ultimate lash seduction thanks to its unique Volumflex brush. Coloured powder-pink for sexy boudoir glamour, its supple bristles are ultra-fine for sleekly groomed lash definition. Glam'eyes mascara wraps each lash with the creamy lash-building formula for lashes that appear styled with up to 10 x more volume and an 80% longer look.''

I apply this mascara after i have applied the Mac fast lash,this then means i have defined eyes and lots of volume. I think this mascara is better for defining and elongating,whilst the Mac one is better for volume.

6. Telescopic - Loreal Paris

I used to swear by this before I came across Plush Lash. However, I think I may go back onto it. It seriously does 'prime' your lashes. I'd say this is more of a primer and something that you should put on as a base coat just to lengthen your lashes.

What they say:''In a flash of a stroke…up to 60% longer looking lashes and intensity lash by lash. Innovation: High-Precision Flexible Multi-comb ''

I think this mascara is amazing and would recommend it to anyone who wants longer lashes,it really does define them up to 60%! However, the comb is a little but flimsy and I always used to bed it as it's so thin. It's good for precise application though.

 Falsies

My two favourite eye lashes of all time and trust me, I have used them ALL.
Eyelure has contest, majorly with these two beauties on the market!

1. Shu Uemera
These eye lashes are fantastic and I always wear them! If you buy them from Harvey Nichols £13.99 I think! Then they reapply them for you for free anytime you go in with them.I love how natural they look but they're still long curly and thick. Cheryl Cole wears these ones.The hairs are very natural so you don't get that tacky shiny strip effect that some girls have from obvious false eyelashes.

2.Primark - Very Fluttery
I know I always go on about these but they're immense!
Natural enough to look like you haven't got them on but pretty enough to look long and transform your look.I absolutely adore them. Last time I went there were none left in stock so i'm going to have to travel the world for Primarks to try find some. These are £1.00 oh yes! So you'd expect the glue to be craaaap! but it's amazing as well. Lorddd have mercy, Primark win again.
World domination? That's fine by me.

Below see me wearing them;

 Mascaras that I need to buy;

So I hope this is fuelled with lots of ideas and help for you all.
To finish, a couple more inspirational images.

What are your mascara must haves?
