Mothers Day Gift Buying Guide

Hey lovelies, I decided to write a Mothers day gift guide as this year i've found mothers day has come around far too quick (a week today to be exact) and it is an important occasion because well, our Mum's made us. Even if you don't celebrate Mother's day, this could be applicable to Grandmas, I always get my Grandma a little something on Mothers day! But whoever you choose to celebrate the day with, gift buying for it is actually quite simple. I know that my Mum always says she would prefer to spend the day with me and have a hand made card than be lavished. But, I love to spoil her, because she doe so much for me and always has done. I'm very lucky to have a hard working Mum who's a Mum and Dad rolled into one, I am a Mummy's girl, so here is my gift guide to make buying a present for Mother's day that little bit easier...

A sentimental card - I always get cards from Moonpig.com, it's easy,
super quick delivery and you can put personalised words or photographs on it.
I find these cards are really touching and thoughtful.
You can even get it sent to her address if you're at University.
You could even go online sites such as Jessops or Kodak and
make a personalised printed photo book of memories, I find these really nice.

Candles - My Mum personally doesn't like candles and wouldn't be fussed at all
if I bought her some, but I know that some ladies love them, especially
The White Company ones or Jo Malone ones. You can't go wrong with them really.

Perfume - I do think this is a bit on the extravagant side for mothers day,
but I usually buy my Mum her favourite perfume. All ladies love perfume,
and I'd hate for my Mum to have to buy perfume for herself!

A book - This may go down badly with some Mums, who don't want to
be put 'in their place in the kitchen' in sexist terms, but my Mum has asked
for Jamie Oliver cook books before, so if your Mum has a passion for baking,
general cooking or even cocktail making, you could always pop into a book
store to find her a lovely book.

Chocolates - I think every woman loves chocolate,
Thorntons do a great range of affordable but pretty chocolates.

Flowers - Simple but my Mum absolutely adores flowers and this is easily
her favourite gift. Everywhere nowadays sells flowers, super markets do
incredible bouquets at a really reasonable price. Morrisons is my personal
favourite for flowers especially at a great value. If you want to go extravagant,
Daisy Chain sell the most incredible flowers that i've ever seen.

Jewellery - A nice pair of earrings, a pretty and sentimental bracelet;
you get the drift but most mummys would love it!

A mug - My Mum loves Whittard Of Chelsea for pretty coffee cups and
hot chocolate mugs. They also do gorgeous sets of tea and coffee,
for a coffee or tea lover this would be perfect.

Photo-frame/home-wear - This would be nice and sentimental and
would look great in the house for someone who likes interior.

Make up - My Mum personally wouldn't like it but some Mum's
would love a nice posh lipstick for her dressing table.

Pampering equipment - Maybe a gift set from Molton Brown or
Jo Malone or even The White Company. From hand cream to body wash...
my Mum loves The White Company!

I hope this has helped some of you, Mothers day for me and my mum
isn't about gifts, as i'm sure for most of you, it's just about showing your
appreciation for her and spending quality time together.
I really can't wait to spend the night with my Mum and
I may take her for food somewhere or even cook and tidy the house.
I can't wait.

Lots of love, Em x
