For as long as I can remember I’ve been
walking through the city centre of Leeds and seeing signs for ‘Trinity 2013’,
it seems like years ago that I heard about the plans for this shopping centre. I remember people saying that it was never going to open or that if it did, it wouldn't be for a long long time, but it seems to have suddenly just happened. Only a few weeks ago I
was inside the building having construction tours, wearing my yellow high
visibility jacket, building boots, glasses and gloves. But today, March 21st
2013, I was lucky enough to go to the press launch and see the opening day of something which will change Leeds forever, Trinity Leeds shopping
and leisure complex…
Now, there has been a lot of talk about Trinity Leeds being something which
will take trade from other sides of the city, however, I am extremely confident
that it is such a good thing for
the city of Leeds, it's a welcome extension to the high street and well and
truly puts Leeds on the map. It’s been exciting to be a part of this historic
moment, and this can only bring good things and more opportunities to Leeds. Lucky for me, Leeds Trinity will have finished building it's Victoria’s Secret very soon ahh! I think any negativity about this incredible addition to Leeds should be unwelcome, I cannot fault the centre in anyway and it still has so much to bring to the city, today we only saw a small percentage of what Trinity Leeds has to offer. If you're not from Leeds, hopefully this will make you want to come and visit (do let me know if you do, I can give you a tour!)

What’s different about Trinity Leeds is
that it is situated in the heart of the city with 1 million sq ft of shopping
and leisure which actually spreads across the city. I like the fact that it includes leisure as well, I will definitely be going to the restaurants, cinema and then for a drink after in Trinity. Trinity Leeds is something which no other city has, some people have asked me 'is it like Westfield' 'is it like the Arndale', you really cannot compare it to any other shopping centre, as this centre, which isn't actually even a centre as such, is just an extension to the high street, with open gates throughout
the city which take you under Trinity’s spectacular roof. You can walk from one side of the city centre to the other, under this roof. Trinity didn't want to take any trade away from the city centre, but instead, I feel that they've just opened up the city centre even more as it's so much easier to get from one side to the other now.
On Tuesday I was invited to the YoSushi launch in Leeds Trinity, and I’ve
got to say, the restaurant quarter is amazing. I’m going to have to go every
night to sample the different restaurants, including Cielo Blanco, Giraffe and
Carluccios. I think these three are at the top of my list to try. The best is still yet to come, soon, we will see Trinity Kitchen open, which will be a quirky food hall and of course, certain shops are still being built. It's also worth a visit in the evening, just to see the beautiful lights on the ceiling.
Obviously, we can't forget the Everyman cinema in Leeds Trinity, it basically has
the biggest, comfiest seats and a bar at the back. It's difficult to explain what an Everyman cinema actually is, but this should help: 'Roman Polanski once remarked that “Cinema should make you forget you are sitting in a theatre”. Somewhere can you enjoy a cinematic experience, where you can enjoy cupcakes and chocolate raisins or swap your soft drink for a nice glass of red wine, and where the cinema feels almost like a home from home? This is where Everyman steps in. We believe in creating a truly unique and memorable cinema experience that exceeds expectations and reaches the highest standards possible in quality,
comfort and entertainment.' I'm excited for this to open!
My dress is from ASOS, leather jacket from Zara, Bag from Zara, Boots from All Saints and jumper from Topshop. P.S I met Jamie Laing at the Leeds Trinity Launch... he was doing t-shirt signings at his Candy Kitten pop up shop in Trinity, but I decided to run in before the launch started and have a chat to him. He's such a nice guy and has always being really supportive of Leeds in terms of going to Leeds Uni's fashion shows etc. I bought some of his Candy Kittens merchandise at Clothes Show. I've decided I need the neon pink gym bag in my life that they sell.
I can't wait to see what Trinity Leeds unveils next, first stop, Victoria's Secret.
Lots of love, Em x
