Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2013

Hello everyone, so with revision slightly taking over this week, I've decided that I'd still write a little post for you anyway.  As most of you know, the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2013 are up and running,and if you read Cosmo magazine, you'll have seen me in this months issue saying: 'last years winner, Em Sheldon' (eek). I was fortunate enough to win the 'best newcomer award' last year and I really did not expect it, I nearly passed out when they called out 'adayinthelifeofems' - what my blog was called when I won. I've only been blogging for just over a year and I still am such a baby in the whole bloggersphere, but I genuinely love blogging, as cringey as it may sound. I put it before everything else which probably isn't always a good thing, but I know that i've got some incredibly loyal readers who I need to keep writing for. I've met some incredible people through blogging and experienced some opportunities which I could only dream of experiencing.  Blogging is honestly the biggest part of my life now. It occurred to me the other day that I should probably have a quick chat to you about the cosmo awards this year as a few people have asked which category they should nominate me in, if you would like to nominate me, please do so in the 'best new beauty blog' category as whilst I write a few lifestyle posts here and there, my blog is primarily beauty. But do feel free to nominate me in which ever category you fancy. I'm not saying that you have to vote for me, I just wanted to let you know that nominations are up and if you do enjoy my blog, it would mean the world to me to have your vote. So many of my fave bloggers are going for the 'new beauty category' and it really is going to be tough competition, but to even get nominated for such a category would be a dream come true, especially after already winning the newcomer award last year! 

I do believe that blogging is such a sociable thing and that's why recently, I wanted to give something back to the community and I hosted the #northmeetup event for bloggers around the country. You can read about that here if you missed it. I hope that I can continue organising free events for other girls like me and continue blogging and meeting incredible like minded people. When I have a bad day or when someone abuses me for having a blog, it's comments,tweets and emails from my readers (yes you reading now!) that make everything okay. I once wrote about my experiences with bitchiness (read it here) and the response that I got made me realise that no-one is alone, and it made me want to continue my blog despite negative people.
