I rarely write 'nail' blog posts, but I've decided to write this after coming across this incredible nail varnish. I would hate for you to waste your money and that's why I needed to tell you about this £1.00 nail varnish that I recently discovered. I'll admit that yes, like most girls, I love expensive brands and yes, I do own an abundance of Nails Inc, Leighton Denny and Chanel nail varnishes. I'm not going to lie, they are very good and they do look beautiful in my bathroom but sometimes, you come across something just as good, for such a lower price, that you just have to shout about it and share the secret...
After seeing the gorgeous Michelle Keegan upload a photo of her mint nails onto instagram, I decided that I needed that colour in my life. It made her tan look incredible. Since, I have been searching for that perfect mint polish, unable to find it, I gave up the chase, until one day, it was right in front of my eyes. I love mint nail varnishes because they make your tan look incredible and particularly for Summer, pastel colours are just my all time favourite. I was recently invited to the launch event of 'Pastille Nail Bar' in Leeds and it made me even more obsessed with all things pastel coloured. The whole nail salon is decorated using pastels and it looks incredible, it's the most beautiful salon that I've ever been to.
I tried a few different brands when trying to find my perfect mint nail polish, and for some reason, still couldn't find the perfect mint shade, no matter how hard I looked, it was either too light or too dark. Whilst shopping for some One Direction Make Up (awkward I know, but it's actually very good), I came across the MUA stand in Superdrug. For those of you that don't know, MUA do incredible and affordable products, most things are £1.00. I've never really used them much, because I do love my Benefit, MAC and Dior (I am a consumers dream), but I couldn't walk past the stand this time after laying my eyes on the mint colour that I'd been on the hunt for for so long. I actually mistook the MUA nail varnish bottles for Essie nail varnishes at first. They are complete dupes/copies whatever you want to call it, they look identical.
This is the colour after two coats. I wore it in Barcelona for over a week and they didn't even chip. This was without a top coat as well, so it just goes to show that MUA nail polishes are just as good as any other nail varnishes.
I was so surprised when I bought this nail varnish because as mentioned, it is pretty much identical to the Essie varnishes, these bottles are just smaller. I know that this is a bit of a different and short blog post from me, but I felt that I had to show you all this diamond of a product. I do love Essie, but when MUA have produced the same gorgeous colours, practically identical packaging and the varnish inside, actually lasts just as long, if not longer, then I feel that every girl needs to know about these polishes.
I'm ridiculously impressed with this colour, it's vibrant, fresh and not too shiny, just what I was looking for. I can't wait to have a look at the other colours in the collection. I've paid £8.00 for an Essie nail varnish and for the same price, you could buy 8 different shades from MUA, well I think I'll go and do just that, just so that I can show you all what other gorgeous colours they stock. For £1.00, you can afford to test out the colours and see if you really do like them on your nails, in fact, for £1.00, you can afford to buy a new nail varnish to wear with every single outfit, imagine that hey? Thanks MUA for bringing us the Primark of nail varnishes.
Have you used Essie nail varnishes? Did you notice the same similarities between Essie and MUA? Have you used MUA products before? What are your favourite nail varnishes? Do you like the mint shades? What shades are you liking?
Lots of love, Em x
