Last Months Favourites; Products I'm Loving

Okay so this post is a little late, but I've had it photographed since July as these are my favourite products from July. July was a strange month for England, with a heatwave which gave me a nice natural tan (which I still have woohoo!) So some of these products are most definitely Summer friendly... I love to get all my favourite things together at the end of the month because I use so much stuff through the month, it's always nice to see whats really stood out to me. Here are the things that I was loving in July (most of which I'm still loving now...)

Bioderma After Sun. I have been lathering this all over my body recently as I have been doing a lot of sun bathing thanks to the English sun. I have completely gone off fake tan and I would never use a sun bed, so I like to catch some natural rays when I can. I'm really trying to moisturise my body every day as I know how bad sun exposure is for you (hence why I'd never use a sunbed personally) and this really got me into that moisturising zone, I got into the routine of applying it every night after playing out in the sun. We haven't had any proper sun in England for over a week now, and my tan is still here, I think this is thanks to Bioderma, it stopped me from peeling and prolonged my tan. I do love French beauty though. I swear by it. This has run out now, time to start using my Aptivita after sun.

Murad Clarifying Skin Wipes and Essential C Cleanser. I went to a Murad event recently in Leeds where I was given these products to try. I've had a terrible few weeks with my skin after over processing it, using far too many products and just having too many facials too close to each other. I know that facials bring out the badness, but because of this, I've reverted back to just a normal skin care routine using a simple moisturiser, these clarifying wipes and then I have been using E45 to balance my skin and hopefully get it back on track. I have seen a difference in my skin after a week of healthy eating and only using really basic products on my skin, so I will let you know how I get on.

Benefit High-Brow. I absolutely love Benefit and if you read my blog a lot, you'll know that I love anything to do with highlighting the skin and just generally making it look more radiant. You simply pop this under the brow and it gives you elevated brows. I've been going for a natural make up look throughout July and this really has been helping with that, it creates a really natural, pretty glow.

Clarins Hydraquench Mask. Oh my gosh I had to include this because I honestly dont know where i'd be without it. As you know, my skin hasn't been great lately, it's gone very very dry and no matter what moisturiser I used, it just seemed to get worse. This is the answer. I know I probably shouldn't, but I did sleep in it. I woke up, and this horrible cut/scar type dry patch of skin on my cheek had gone. My skin has been so horrendously dry that I've been applying this in the shower, leaving it on for 10 minutes and then washing it off. It's managed to get rid of all my dryness and soften my skin perfectly. I'm also obsessed with a version of this which you can buy from Boots for about £5.00. It's the Superfacialist Rose Intense Moisture mask which is well worth a try.

Speaking of moisturisers, before my skin got bad and throughout July, I was using Institut Esthederm's Intensive Hyaluronic Cream, because I'd been getting so much sunshine to my face and a lot of harmful rays, I used this to put moisture back in my skin and I did see a huge difference with it. This is for severely dehydrated skin so I really needed this throughout July.

Murad Energising Lipbalm. Again, I was given this at the Murad event and as a huge lover of lip balms, I am very impressed. I've been lathering my lips with this throughout July as it has been so hot. I will be popping this in my hand luggage to take to Barcelona so my lips don't get frazzled.

Benefit They're Real Mascara. I bought ELLE magazine a fair few times so that I could have some samples of Benefit's They're Real mascara. I would have bought it full sized, but I bought it for my Mum as a birthday present and didn't really want to buy two of them so I'm sticking to the samples. I am absolutely loving this mascara, I am going to do a full review of it very soon. It makes your lashes separated, super long, I'm so impressed. I do have to put another one on top of it though to make it darker as it is only a light mascara.

MAC Morange Lipstick. I rarely wear bright lipsticks, but recently I bought Morange from MAC. The sales assistant said that oranges are 'so in this season' so I thought, why not. I do love the colour - you can see a swatch of it here in my Summer lipstick collection post. My only worry is that because it doesn't have blue tones in it, it may make the teeth look less white. It's nice to wear in these Summer months with a neutral dress though.

Nourish Highligher. I am a huge fan of Nourish and have been since I started blogging. I am a bit obsessed with their products and this highlighter really does live up to how good other Nourish products are. It really reminds me of their body toning souffle, apart from this is designed just for the face.  I did review this in my Rosie Huntington Whiteley; Get The Look blog post a while ago. I just love it because it has gold tones in it and I am a sucker for warm cheeks and that tanned make up look in Summer. This is the perfect highlighter to give you that really nice Kim Kardashian glow.

Clarins Lip Perfector. Oh my gosh, I am absolutely in love with this product, I've mentioned it a lot lately. I am besotted, beyond belief. It somehow, manages to make my lips look so much bigger, but it also manages to give them a really neutral and pretty finish. Neutral and pretty are my favourite words this month, I'm all for that 'barely there' make up look in Summer and this just helps to achieve that perfectly.

Aptivita Suncare. I was kindly sent this by Aptivita and I have over used their suncream throughout July. I don't promote letting your skin burn in the sun, so I applied this numerous times a day. I didn't burn but I did get a gorgeous natural tan even if I do say so myself, so thanks Aptivita, lets see how good this is in Barcelona.

Do you like to compile a list of your favourite products each month? Is there anything that you use over and over, month after month? Would you like to try any of these products?
Lots of love, Em x

  17. I love benefits 'they're real mascra too but do you find it gets a bit flaky as the day goes on? Its the only mascara that has made me question my old favourite but still I wonder if maxfactors masterpeice trumps this as it gives great length and doesn't flake.

    1. Aw thank you, yeah it gets a bit dry? It's really quite wet to put on but then gets dry. I find it good because it means that it kind of falls off ready for bed time and I dont have to tug at my eyes with a face wipe to get it off. I think L'oreals telescopic is very very gooood and very similar (not flakey) will check out maxfactors thank you! I just use facewipes to remove it xxx
