Autumn is already upon us, I’ve got to be
honest and admit that Autumn and Winter are my favourite months of the year,
we’re talking chunky knits, fluffy scarves, Uggs and mittens. I am the coldest
person in the world, so I love wrapping up and getting cosy. For beauty lovers, Autumn is an
exciting month, we can ditch those BB creams and start applying those darker shades
on our eyes and lips. Today, I’ve decided to write about my favourite items to
fake an Autumn glow, there isn’t any season where I don’t want to be radiant,
so let’s get started with my Autum must haves for a Kim Kardashian style glow…
Nourish Golden Glow Illuminating Face Shimmer - If you’re wanting a golden glow this Autumn, I’d recommend this from one of my favourite brands, Nourish. I was lucky enough to work with them for my NorthMeetUp event and instantly fell in love with them. I like this for Autumn as it is made up of golden tones rather than silver. This is perfect for copying Kim Kardashian's highlighted cheek look.
Mac Soft and Gentle Highlighter - If liquid highlighters aren’t your thing, I bought Mac’s soft and gentle highlighter months ago, and it’s hardly gone down. It's still as good as new. I use a contouring brush and put it at the top of my cheeks and it gives such a nice subtle glow. Perfect for faking luminosity when it comes to Autumn.
Autograph Instant Radiance Primer - This is an exciting
primer as it reminds me of the Laura Mercier radiance primer, apart from it’s half the
price. It keeps your make up on and you don’t need to put highlighter
underneath as this just gives you instant radiance.
Benefit Hoola Lip Gloss - This is a really nice, dark lip gloss. It turns your lips a nice shade of brown, perfect for Autumn but with it being a gloss, your natural lip colour can still shine through. Also, with it being a gloss, it gives a really nice glow, without being sticky. Benefit do it again.
Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss - I am obsessed with this lipgloss, I’ve discussed it on my blog so many times but it gives such a warm 3 dimensional glow, perfect for Autumn. It has gold tones in it which again, are gorgeous for Autumn. I bought this from Boots with the Smashbox starter kit, it was £19.00 for the kit and included an eyeliner, mini primer, mini mascara and this. The more I think about it, it was actually very good value for money as I have had this for nearly a year now. I never want it to run out.
When it comes to eyes, Models Own Eye Shadow in Mocha is one that I'm in love with. It's not Christmas yet, so I personally can't pull off the ridiculously glittery eye, this one is perfect for a subtle shimmer. I bought this at Clothes Show Live and it's the perfect shade of brown for Autumn, not to mention the tiny hints of glitter inside it. Of course the smokey eye look will be back
in this Autumn and I don’t like to use black colours on my own eyes as I feel that they are too dark for me, ignoring the black, this Daniel Sadler palette is beautiful for creating a subtle shimmery twist on the smokey eye.
If you're more of a silver lover, I swear by Urban Decay's Glide on Eye pencils in the water line, particularly in Cuff, it opens up your eyes, makes them look so much wider and gives you a beautiful shimmer.
Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter - This is the highlighter for you if you're looking for a highlighter with colder, silver tones in it. I have lost
the lid for it though so its forever leaking all over my make up bag which is
depressing. Rouge Bunny Rouge's Moon Beam Highlighter is for the girl who wants more of a peachy glow, it is
similar to the Arbonne highlighter but it has more pink tones in it. The Rouge Bunny Rouge highlighter is much better value for money, the tube is huge and will never run out as you only need to use a tiny blob on your face.
Have you used any of these products? What products will you be using this Autumn? I can't wait to write about Autumn lipsticks, what are your must have items this Autumn?
Lots of love, Em x
