I remember strolling into the Kiehl's opening party in Leeds, I didn't own a blog but I was beauty obsessed. I got a little bit excited when I saw their new shiny store back in the day. I immediately fell in love with the shop, it wasn’t too big, the sales assistants didn’t jump on me, instead, they helped me out and genuinely cared when it came to skin care. I chose a gorgeous hair mask and their famous body butter, since then, I’ve always loved Kiehls as a brand. Lucky me, I recently got my hands on their Midnight Recovery Oil*. After a difficult few months with my skin (read all about it here), it took a lot of will power to dare to put anything that wasn't soap and water on my skin, but the outcome was one that I needed to share with you…

If you read my
blog often you’ll have hopefully seen my post explaining my skin journey
and how having too many facials in a month, putting too many different products
on my skin and just not sticking to one simple routine, really took it’s toll
on my usually pretty good skin. I have now completely changed my skin care
routine and only use 3 key products, two of which can be bought for less than
£3.00. My £3.00 skin care routine has changed my skin and actually, my life, as
vain as it sounds, I felt horrendous when my skin was as bad and it really did
upset me. I’m fortunate to have never been someone who’s suffered with
acne, but members of my family have so I panicked when my skin went a bit
ropey. Although the doctor told me I didn’t have acne, to me, it still felt
like I did.
Dropping down to
three products was hard, but my skin is practically perfect now after the solid
and honest advice: use 2 simple products. All I get now (touch wood) is the odd
time of the month blemish here and there. Cidal soap, E45 and Kiehls Midnight Recovery Oil really are my saviours.
I stuck to just
using the soap and the E45 but soon realised that I still needed a third step. I was
lucky enough to be sent Kiehls Midnight Recovery Oil and decided that I
would use this to further keep spots away and keep my skin glowing. This is made
of 99.8% natural ingredients and if there’s one thing that my skin has told me,
it’s that it doesn’t like fake, strong products so I wanted to stick to
something natural which wouldn't be too over powering.
So what does this
beautiful little bottle aim to do?
• -Replenish the skin with moisture
• - Helps to recover radiance by the morning
I
gave it a go and to be honest, don't really trust products which say they'll work over night but surprisingly from the first day, I noticed a change in my skin, ‘one night
two drops’ is the motto for this product and I really did see a difference in my skin and have continued
to. I have read a few reviews of this and a lot of people feel the same way
about this product. It really is a miracle oil. I recently went on holiday and
saw a little blemish coming but realised that I’d forgotten to pack this, I
actually nearly cried. I think a good way to tell if skin care is actually good,
is to see how you get on without it. Well, it’s safe to say that when I did
stop using it for a week, whilst my skin was still good, it wasn’t as good as it
was when I had been using it and it took longer for blemishes to go without it.
I
don’t know if this product is meant to stop blemishes but I find that if I put
this on a blemish, I wake up and the blemish has always pretty much gone or at
least the redness and size of it has decreased at least by half. I feel more
radiant, my skin feels smoother and I feel happier in myself. See my bare (and freckly) skin above. I
have been using this for about 5 weeks now and I don’t want to stop using it anytime
soon. The bottle costs £36.00 which actually isn’t that bad for such a miracle
oil, I’ve used some that have cost me £100+. This will never run out either,
you literally need a drop or two and I still only really put it on my chin which is my
problem area.
Have
you ever used any Kiehl's products? Which are your favourite products? Have you
heard of the midnight recovery oil or will you be using this? Is there any skin
routine that you swear by? I'd love to know which skin products you use? Make sure you read about my £3.00 skincare routine here because it really has made my skin so much better.
