Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2013

Last night was spent at the Cosmopolitan awards and wow what a night it was. I was lucky enough to win the newcomer award last year so didn’t think for a second that I’d win this year (I’m still such a baby with my blog only being under a year and a half old) but I was still thrilled to be shortlisted out of over 40,000 entrants which is just crazy. I don’t really class myself as a beauty blog anymore either, if you know me, you’ll know that I LOVE food and travel, so to narrow myself down as a beauty blog felt wrong, particularly when there were so many girls in my category who are insanely good when it comes to beauty (cosmeticcrave, my money was on her winning – she is such a lovely girl) but the winner went to onenailtorulethemall - it was lovely to see a nail blogger take the award of best new beauty blogger as they don't always get the recognition that they deserve, I wish I could paint my nails like that! This doesn't mean I'll stop beauty blogging though as I do love beauty you can just expect a lot more from me now. I have made a cheeky little vlog (as a few of you asked me to) and of course, taken lots of photos of the night so that you can all see it, I feel like now that the awards are over I can get back to writing about everything and anything that I truly love and I really am excited for what me and Emtalks have in store for you, watch this space, I’d love to thank you all for your ongoing support since March 2012 when Emtalks was born, I cannot wait to see what the future holds and no way would I be here without you, my incredible readers (massive cyber snuggles for you all)…

I went to the event with the lovely Nic from Nics Nutrition (go check her out), a fellow Leeds blogger. Doesn't she look incredible?! Her dress is from French Connection, mine is from ASOS worn with a gorgeous strapless bra courtesy of Wonderbra as I could not find anything to go with this mesh dress, my clutch is from All Saints and my lipstick, is my favourite lipstick ever, surprisingly, by One Direction - they're beauty range is pretty good, directioner or not.

I look horrendous but I also bumped into a girl crush of mine, Lydia Rose from Fashioninflux, she came highly commended in the Best New Fashion Blogger category and I couldn't have been happier for her! Loved her all white outfit and desperately need her skirt in my life. My shoes are from MissGuided, so so comfy to walk in. I love a chunky heel!

The night consisted of lots of cocktails, drinks, canapes, stalls with beauty products and lots of giggles.

My night was spent mainly with these lovely ladies, Gracie Francesca, Lulutrixabelle and Nic.

Lucy's dress was just next level stunning, from AQ/AQ.

The cocktails and canapes were quickly consumed...

Drinking cosmo cocktails is pretty much a necessity at the Cosmo awards don't you think?

Cosmopolitan Magazine supplied Pink Vodka too, how very fitting.

The amazing Lucy Rance, better known as Lulutrixabelle bagging the highly commended best established fashion blogger award.

The beautiful Liv Purvis walked away with the best established fashion blog award. I didn't get the chance to chat to her on the night but she looked effortlessly beautiful.

 Me and Nic mingled with some models. Me and Bibi had a few conversations much to the envy of my best friend at home who is in love with him...

 Me and the gorgeous, intelligent and beautiful girls from Trends With Benefits. I love the idea behind their blog, three best friends writing about what they love - they are all so genuine and it was a pleasure to spend some time with them tonight, even if they did make me a little bit jealous as they've just got home from touring America!

A party wouldn't be complete without cupcakes now would it?

We walked away with a goodie bag filled with well, LOTS of goodies. I cannot wait to show you what's inside. Now if you really want to soak up the atmosphere and find out more about the night, I've made a cheeky little vlog below (I'm new to vlogging so I really hope you like it, apologies for how loud it is and how quiet my voice is!)  I know it's a bit of a rubbish vlog but I just wanted to show you all the atmosphere, which was very loud and exciting!

I had the most incredible night, met some very influential and inspirational people and again, I really cannot wait to see what’s in store in the future. Thank you so much Cosmopolitan for hosting The Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2013, it was such an incredible event and thank you for changing my life last year and giving me the 'newcomer award' to even be shortlisted again this year was just insane and beyond my wildest dreams. I know I’ve already said this but there is no way that I’d be able to do this without you (you reading this right now) so thank you, may this crazy and exciting journey continue and I hope that I can share it with you all x
