If you didn’t already know, it’s Autumn.
Hip hip hooray. The thought of all things Autumny make me jump for joy; jumping
in leaves, wearing wellingtons and mittens and getting out those chunky
scarves. I am the most seasonal person that you will ever meet, I just love
every season. Autumn is my favourite, but then again, I’ll probably be saying
that Winter is my favourite as soon as it starts to snow. If you are bored of the cold though, you can always read about what I got up to in the sun recently (here)... For us ladies, Autumn
means that we need to mix things up a
bit in our trusty handbags (any excuse). I have well and truly packed my bag
ready for these Autumn months ahead of us and I cannot wait to share my
excitement with you, these are some of my favourite items yet.
Lipbalm - Any kind of lipbalm will do and I do change around which kind of lip products are in my bag almost every day. This week, I've been using my Fillast Lips High Perfection Lips plumper from my North Meet Up event, simply because it's the only thing that seems to be keeping my lips moisturised lately. In terms of plumping, I haven't seen a difference just yet but in terms of actually keeping moisturise in my lips? This is doing the job.
Concealer - In Summer, I rarely even wear make up, but in Winter my skin tends to get worse, until it gets used to the Winter weather and gets a natural rosy glow, I'm forever battling with dry skin and having to cover up any imperfections, this is nice in the transition from Summer to Autumn as it's quite light and easy to wear, I like to put it under my eyes to wake me up. It very much reminds me of YSL's Touch Eclat, I've done a review of YSL's Touche Eclat VS a cheaper dupe by L'Oreal. This is probably worth a read if you're looking at investing in a new concealer which isn't too heavy for these Autumn months, they tend to be really easy and light to just throw in your bag, no hassle, you literally draw on your face with these kind of applicators.
Lipgloss - I have become obsessed with a little hint of lipgloss recently. I am obsessed with this lipgloss by Smashbox, you'll be aware of that if you read my blog a lot because it's probably featured well over 50 times. I bought this from Boots in a Smashbox starter kit and it's just the prettiest little lipgloss. I love this for Autumn because it gives a really warm glow.
Q Deodorants – I urge you to go and buy
these now. I have discussed these before on my beauty products that actuallywork blog post, so do have a nosey if you’re after some good beauty products. These smell
simply divine, I was shocked when the lovely ladies at Q told me that these are
only around £2.00, this really is designer deodorant at it's best, without the price tag.
They smell incredible, much better than any other deodorant/fragrance that I’ve
come across and I feel that they're much classier/mature than Impulse and other Body Spray brands. Each one smells like a perfume and you probably won't stop smelling yourself once you've put this on. So why do we need deodorant in
Autumn? Well, personal hygiene of course, no matter what month it is, I always
carry deodorant with me, I just prefer these because they’re much classier than your average deodorant. If that's not enough to sway you, they also do mens versions too, so you can get your boy smelling just as delicious as you do. I know that every male family member is receiving some of these body sprays from me this Christmas as a little stocking filler.
Sunglasses - You’re probably thinking what
the… why does she have Ray Bans in her handbag? But, if you’ve looked out of
the window this week, you’ll see that whilst all of the trees are bare, the
grounds covered in leaves and it’s pretty windy, the sun still has it’s hat on
and is coming out to play. Basically, this is Britain. It’s unpredictable. It
may be chilly, but today, I got quite a lot of use out of my gorgeous new Ray
Bans. I was kindly sent these by Vision Direct and I think these may just be my favorite
pair yet. I'm a big time contact lens wearer and it took me years to find a pair to suit me. Back to the glasses anyway, I’m hoping that I can persuade someone to come skiing with me now I
have these as they really do remind me of ski goggles but also, wouldn't they look so perfect on the ski slopes? I think so.
A comb - Okay, this doesn't look like much, but this is a special kind of comb. I know it looks really rubbish but it's because I've used it so much so the logo has rubbed off. Macadamia, that beautiful brand which have saved my hair (they seriously do the best hair products ever) They featured heavily on my easy hair growth guide if you want to find out more about them. A brush/comb is essential in my handbag at all times of the year, particularly Autumn when the wind decides to ruin my hair every time I style it. This little comb is sleek, light and infused with Macadamia oil so that it fixes my hair every time I comb it. For such a plain looking tool, it's pretty good huh?
Perfume - Whilst we're on the topic of hair, I recently received this from the lovely ladies at Percy and Reed and wow it smells simply divine. A plus side of the cold months means that we're not um, sweating everything off with the heat, which means that you can treat your hair to some fragrance and shine without the sun just melting it away. I love popping this diddy 'Eau My Goodness' shine and fragrance spray into my bag this Autumn, plus, it's always a great way to start a conversation when you pull out some hair perfume out of your bag. I think hair perfume is something which they need to invent more of, it's a pretty cool invention if you ask me and it lasts way longer than body perfume.
A hat - Being the coldest person in the world does have it's benefits when it gets to the chillier months, it means I can take advantage of all the fabulous hats on offer. I got this gorgeous fur headband in my Cosmopolitan Blog Awards goodie bag and I haven't really taken it off since. It's always in my bag, just incase there's a chill in the air. I absolutely adore wearing this, look out for lots of instagram selfies of me wearing this. Also in my bag recently I've become obsessed with headbands so there are a few of them floating around too, I think it's because it keeps my hair neat whilst there's so much wind.
Do you change the contents of your handbag depending on what month it is? Am I just crazy? Do you like any of the above products? What's the best item in your bag?
