German Christmas Market Leeds: Christmas Kindelmarkt

Everything is happening so quickly, Summer is over and Autumn really is in full swing, this means that it's time for the Christmas markets to open across the country, much to my delight. I am incredibly obsessed with anything to do with Christmas and seem to hibernate at the Christmas markets throughout November. This year, they've come round really quick (one month until Christmas, uh what?!) Here is my first trip to the German market of the year, first up, it's Leeds' German Christmas Market...

 

I was told to wear something warm and take my camera... Any excuse to wear my new Zara coat.

It seems like there are so many more stalls this year... including the markets own Bavarian style restaurant which I must go and review for you all for my foodie section!

I could eat these nuts all day, the bailey's ones are incredible.

Just enjoying my hot chocolate with extra cream, looking like a baby with my minimalist make up. My nails are wearing Essie's Sand Tropez. I love my little gloves, you can find out the story behind them here.

I love the cuteness of the German market. I'm not sure what these biscuits are but one day I will buy myself a special love heart one.

Chocoking is an amazing stall which sells the most delicious chocolate covered fruit, however, at £4.00 for a few strawberries on a stick I had to give it a miss this time. I love making chocolate strawberries, in fact, it's probably my favourite thing to make and I've already written my recipe up if you're wanting to make your own cheap chocolate fondue/chocolate strawberries. 

I've been craving a hot chocolate for so long, there's nothing better on a cold Autumn day.

The hot dog defeated me.

The garlic bread is the most garlicky thing that I've ever tried (and I love garlic) - make sure you take some chewing gum with you if you're going to be indulging on this.

If it looks this cute in the middle of the day, imagine how cute it looks in the evening.

and also oh-so messy to eat.

Make sure you try a cheese hotdog, you take a bite and they literally ooze with cheese. D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s.

I could spend forever watching them decorate doughnuts. What a cool job.

I could also spend forever eating doughnuts.

I went for the Berliner custard.

Calorific but oozing with flavour, well worth the calories.

Standard: 'I'm at the German market' photo, love my mittens (thanks Primark) and obviously adore my Zara coat.

The pretezels are incredible, you must try a salami and cheese one. Again, they're quite reasonably priced.

It's such a hard choice deciding which sauce to get...

Fried cheese jalapenos are probably the best thing about the German market and only £2.50 for 6, incredible value for money and so delicious, I feel like I'm going to gain a few pounds munching on these every day until December.

Inside the large tent is where the magic really happens...

Apart from they no longer serve massive steins which is a shame for most of the boys.

I opted for blueberry mulled wine, inside the most adorable mug. You pay a £2.50 deposit on top of every little mug and you can buy them for the same price, I think I might buy a few next time to have hot chocolate in.

You must try a coconut chocolate marshmallow, only 80p each so very reasonable.

I'd love to hear about your favourite Christmas markets, wherever you are in the world as I'm hoping to do some travelling this Christmas to see some more Christmas markets. The goal of the German market (for me anyway) is to eat as much as you can basically, I managed a pretzel, a hot chocolate, a mulled wine, a hot dog, chips, a plum jam crepe and some chocolate.  I'd love to know what you could manage if you spent a day here...
