Valentines Day Inspiration

There are only 2ish weeks to go until Valentines day and whether you're single, taken or have given up on love all together, we may as well share the love, even if it's just with your best friend. I personally adore all things Valentines day, I'm such a festive person, Christmas, Easter, Valentines day - I just love them all, I am majorly keen. I thought I'd compile an easy read post including some of my favourite Valentines day photos, hopefully they might inspire you to do something cute this Valentines day or they might just brighten your day and get you into a lovey dovey mood, let's try this...

 Make a den, cute huh?
Breakfast in bed? Yes please.

The cutest breakfast in bed.

Champagne, candles, bath? Count me in.

Maybe a trip to the seaside? (I would love this) or, you could just sit with your best friend and watch romantic films and cry, a few favourite romantic films: Sweet Home Alabama, No Strings Attached, Dear John, The Notebook.

Have dinner, inside your den. This is seriously cool.

Wear red this V-day. I have serious dress envy.

A cute lunch date maybe?

Roses don't have to be red.

Bake heart shaped brownies for your loved one and then eat them together (obviously).

Or cupcakes.

Share a milkshake (or 3 - as long as it's pink, it's cute).

Who can say no to strawberries and Nutella?

Romance isn't dead...

I love peonies, a personal favourite. Fill your bedroom with them. It's my dream to walk into a room full of flowers one day, very Gatsby.

Pancakes maybe?

Find some peonies on your door step. We can dream.

I thought this was seriously too cute.

A lifetime supply of red roses...

Or white.

Act out a scene from the Notebook (or any of your favourite films): 'If you're a bird, I'm a bird'.

Ask someone to be your Valentine.

Fill the office/flat with bright pink balloons? How adorable haha.

Forget about calories, it's all about heart shaped chocolates.

Pink cookies?

Cuddle.

Let off some heart balloons.

This is the dream. Do men like this actually exist?

Chocolate lollies.

A modern take on flowers.

Kiss.

Mind the language, but I like this.

Heart shaped pizzas? Amazing idea.

For the adventurous type: a rollerskating date. I would love to do this.

Valentines day is the perfect excuse to wear a pretty outfit, before it's even Summer.

These are so incredible. I love chocolate strawberries but I've never thought of doing this before.

Go on a walk.

Buy yourself some pink underwear.

Who needs flowers anyway?

If you're looking for something to do on Valentines day this year, you can read my things to do on Valentines day guide here.

I hope this has got you in the mood, if you're anti-valentines day, I hope this has made you realise that Valentines day can be spent with anyone, anyway that you wish - or you can always just avoid it all together. It's just a bit of fun after all and I am a strong believer in, if you love someone, tell them every day, not just on Valentines day (but I do get giddy over any occasion, I guess I just love Valentines day). If you're into Valentines day, you can read about my collection of pink make up here, and see a Valentines day fashion post here.

What is the best thing you've ever done on Valentines day? I'd LOVE to know? Do you have any plans this Valentines day?

Lots of love, Em x

  1. Lovely post, made me smile! I'm in a long distance relationship and usually Valentine's involves Skype and a nice dinner either end. However this year it's a Friday, so my boy will be getting the train to me after work. I won't see him for long, but the next day we will go hunting reduced food in M&S/Waitrose and have a mini date then! I'm not the hugest fan of bought presents, so I''ll be baking something special for him instead!

  4. I love this post, I've had to listen to constant Valentines bashing at work so I'm happy to see someone who's celebrating it! I love all of these cute ideas and I think it's nice to celebrate with family, friends, or your partner. Plus sometimes people need a little push to remember what they have and be a little more romantic.. and anything pink, red or heart shaped is just adorable! x

  19. I agree you can still celebrate Valentines if you're single, my best valentines was when I had two of my single best friends over and we made dinner and had a silly, fun day bouncing on the trampoline and eating too much chocolate hehe! Although this Valentines I'll probably be working - working in a restaurant on Valentines day when you're single, major depressing haha!! Hope you have a lovely Valentines day xxx
