I haven't done a round up of my favourite products for quite a while and thought it was time that I did a round up, particularly because I've been using some incredible products recently. I've been trying some really lovely new products and I am absolutely loving a few things at the moment so I really wanted to share them with you...
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm (Crush) - I was really excited to try some of Revlon's new launches this week (thank you Revlon). I instantly fell in love with this product for both it's colour and texture. I was surprised when I put it on because at first, there wasn't any colour on my lips and it was just like a balm, it was only when I pressed a little bit harder that I noticed the beautiful, vibrant colour. I thought the colour would be quite Vampy but actually it's got a nice vibrancy to it. Revlon say that this gives a velvety matte look and I agree with that, they also describe it as a moisture rich balm and I do find it very moisturising. It's made from a triple butter complex of shea, coconut and mango butter to nourish the lips, this is an instant winner for me because I'm really trying to use products at the moment which have natural ingredients in like coconut and shea butter. As you can see on the photo below, my lips are very dry at the moment thanks to the bad weather but instead of this being a drying lipstick and making them worse, this has the gorgeous colour properties of a lipstick but the benefits of a lipbalm. I'd personally say it's probably best to get rid of drying lipsticks this Winter/early Spring and use this as it's much better for your lips and still looks just as good. Goodbye pale, dry lips, hello smooth, vibrant lips.
Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream - Ah I am literally obsessed with this CC cream. It's the first CC cream that I've used and I cannot recommend it enough, I'll definitely be trying some more CC creams now I've seen how good this one is. I've been working really hard to not put anything damaging on my skin at the moment so this really did come at the right time. This is described as a foundation which is basically like skin care, I've always been a fan of BB creams (read my guide to BB creams here) because they fix your skin whilst still giving you a medium coverage finish. This smooths away imperfections and includes apricot pigments to get rid of tiredness (anti-fatigue), green pigments to get rid of redness and white pigments to get rid of anti-dark spots. The skincare action of this cream gives your skin 24 hr hydration and it's got SPF 15 in it so no damage to your skin from harmful UV rays. This does give me luminous and flawless skin immeditely, I am blown away with this CC cream/foundation. I'd say it's a light coverage but it can be built on, I wear it as a medium coverage foundation and I've noticed that my skins got so much better since scrapping bad/perfumed foundations and wearing this.
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer - I have been doing so much travelling lately which hasn't been good for my skin at all but this instant boost tonic skin spritzer which I was kindly sent to try by the team at Liz Earle seriously has saved my skin. This is actually quite a multi-action product, I ran out of cleanser on the train the other day so I sprayed this onto a cotton wool pad and it took my make up off, granted probably not as well as a cleanser but my skin just needed to breathe so I used this to take my eye make up off and to try get rid of my foundation. One spray of this and my skin feels absolutely beautiful, it can breathe, it's fresh and soft. I spray this over my make up when I'm travelling and I spray it under my make up after cleansing. I absolutely adore this product and it's most definitely going to be a staple in my hand luggage when I go to Vietnam next month!
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - I have been using this as a primer every morning and I am absolutely loving it. I've seen so many rave reviews and I can see why. It really does brighten and tighten but it also moisturises too, it gives me the most perfect and flawless make up base ever. My make up literally glides on. This again is a travel sized product which I recieved in my Clarins travel bag and again, I can't wait to take it to Vietnam with me. I'm loving it so much.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - I bought this from Boots recently after seeing Tanya Burr rave about it, if she loves it then it must be good. I'm still getting to grips with it as it's hard to move away from my MAC mineralize skin finish powder, which I've been using for years after being matched up with it by a make up artist years ago. I got this in transparent because all of the other colours seemed far too light, I do find that it gets rid of shine and gives a really nice matte finish and it was only £3.50 so it was well worth buying. I'll let you know how I think it copes with 'stayability' and how long I find it lasts.
Cidal Soap - Oopsie, this is on my favourites list pretty much every time I write one (sorry). You can read a full review here but basically this soap has saved my skin, I stopped using it for a few weeks to trial some other products and my skin went back to being awful, this soap is seriously my saviour. I'd never usually use soap on my skin as it usually makes my skin dry and actually feelings like it's stripping my skin, but this doesn't, it's antibacterial and it really really works for me and has completely cleared all my spots. It's only £1.00 too which is crazy.
Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss in Streak - Oh gosh these lipglosses are just absolutely incredible. I am loving 'streak' at the moment. It's a gorgeous coral colour and it makes my lips look full and glossy. You don't need any lipstick when wearing this gloss as rather than being a subtle colour, I would say it gives more of a bright colour than the standard lipgloss, that's what I love about it. I'm all for lipcolours which moisturise my lips and this really does just that. It's nice and thick too so it doesn't need reapplying every second. I'm always on the look out for lipglosses but often they're too neutral, I like that the Naked range has brought bright lipglosses to the market, where the colour actually lasts.
Beauty Sleep Accelerator - Night and Flight Moisture Miracle by Soap and Glory - I practically squeled when this arrived at my door, I'm going to Vietnam (as I keep telling everyone!) and I'm quite scared about what kind of shape my skin is going to be in after the long haul flight so this really did come at the right time. I've been lucky enough to try out a few new products for Soap and Glory and this is one of them that they kindly sent me. I absolutely love this moisturiser at the moment, it smells incredible and has the nicest texture, my skin just drinks it all up. I was completely attracted to the product immeditely when I saw the name 'beauty sleep accelerator' - anything that promises to make me look like I've had some beauty sleep is perfect for me, I never get enough sleep so this can hopefully help with that. I have found that my skins been in tip top shape after using this every night for a few weeks and also using the Cidal soap with this too.
Have you used any of the above products? Do you want to use any of the above products? What are your favourite items/products this month?
Lots of love, Em x
