Urban Decay Naked Ultra-Nourishing Lipgloss and Naked Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder Review

urban decay

I was just a little bit excited when some of Urban Decay's new products landed in my post box. I absolutely adore trying out new products, particularly when they're from one of my favourite brands - I've loved Urban Decay for as long as I can remember, everyone knows that they're the best when it comes to eye palettes, they're pretty much unbeatable, so I was excited to review something which wasn't an eye palette for once, just as incredible though, let me introduce you to their Naked Lipglosses and their Naked Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder. I'm doing a joint review of the two products on one blog post because they're both new exciting releases from one brand. You're in for a treat...

Freestyle, Liar, Naked, Love Child and Streak are 5 of their new lip glosses and I was lucky enough to try them out for you all. It would be hard to say which is my favourite, as you can see, they're all so beautiful. Let's get onto the packaging first.Naked Ultra-Nourishing Lipgloss

I love the sleekness of the packaging, usually I'm a huge fan of black packaging when it comes to beauty products but it was really nice to add some gold to my make up bag, I also love how you can see what colour it is at the end as usually with lipsticks I've got to open them up to see what the colour is, it means I can just grab them easily from the bottom of my huge bag, although it's pretty difficult deciding which colour to take places with me as I love them all so much.

Naked Ultra-Nourishing Lipgloss

So I guess you're wondering what makes these glosses different to the standard lipgloss? They're designed to have an addictive, creamy texture and a high-gloss finish - both of which I can say yes, they really do. I tend to just keep applying it all day not because it's rubbed off but because it keeps my lips so smooth and shiny and I'm a lipgloss obsessive and love reapplying it. Now we get to the exciting part and the part that I didn't actually know until I just checked out their website: in a clinical study of this lipgloss, 86% of participants had a significant improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, 76% had a significant improvement in volume and hydration and 86% said their lips felt nourished. Now I've never really seen stats like this when it comes to lipgloss so Urban Decay have clearly put a lot of work into making these lipglosses just perfect and I've got to say, their hard work has paid off because I am absolutely in love with these glosses. I've never used a lipgloss before which is meant to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles but now I realise that this is what this product aims to do, that would explain why it makes my lips look so big, juicy and smooth, no lines, just oomph, it really does even them out and make them look a lot bigger - something which I really want, I want big lips!

Finally, the colours, as you can see, they are absolutely gorgeous, I'm currently hooked on Streak as you'll know if you read about it in my February favourites. This is described as a 'luxe balm and a rich gloss in one' which is laced with ingredients that are good for your skin. I've really been trying to use things recently which are full of good ingredients because I really don't want to be putting harsh things on my skin, these lipglosses include: Hyaluronic Filling Spheres (which would probably explain why they make my lips look so big), vitamin E, avocado oil and shea butter to hydrate and condition your lips. As if that wasn't enough, there's also some rosehip seed oil in there to provide an extra hit of vitamins. Basically these lipglosses are like a superfood but unfortunately you can't eat them.

I'm wearing Love Child on the photos above, it's such a nice, pretty shade for Spring and this is after wearing it for a few hours, my lips still look glossy, not as glossy and big as they do when first applied but they still look shiny after no touching up. I don't like wearing lipsticks too much in the colder months as I do find that they really dry out my lips, these give off a gorgeous colour but because of the added moisture, you get the benefits of a lip balm and the brightness of a lipstick. Bravo Urban Decay.

Naked Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder

Next onto the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder (what a mouthful!).  This powder is described as an 'addictively silky, weightless formula' which blurs flaws, sets make up and cuts shine, all whilst creating a luminous demi-matte naked finish. Now that is what I want to achieve from all my make up, I am dying to look natural whilst looking luminous and flawless. I absolutely love Naked products, I was more than impressed with the Naked foundation so I was really excited to try the powder. It really does give my skin a lovely natural finish. I was sold when I read that it would 'blur' my flaws and it really does just that, if you're having a really good skin day you could easily wear this by itself as it's got a really nice buildable coverage.

It claims to create a stunning soft-focus effect that looks proffesionally retouched and I do find that this product is similar to HD powder. Oh and how gorgeous is the packaging!?

I really do think that this is the ultimate powder, it promises to do so much and it really does do everything that it says it's going to do, I usually don't like loose powder as they tend to come out really quick and create a huge mess but this comes out nice and gently and it doesn't spill everywhere. This is a gorgeous coverage, it still manages to 'blur' your flaws whilst looking super natural and not cakey whatsoever, it does seem quite thick when on the brush so you'd assume that it would be really cakey but it is really light weight and actually the complete opposite of cakey.

Naked Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder
The colours are quite dark, I use naked light which shocked me as I usually wear my powders in Medium/Dark (MAC mineralize powder). I find that the Naked light is the perfect shade for me though.

All in all, once again I am extremely imrpessed by the Naked range. I haven't stopped wearing the powder since I recieved it and it's not like me to give up my MAC Mineralize Powder as I've been using that for years but I'm converted now and can't wait to keep using this. The lipglosses are the perfect go-to lipglosses, I still can't decide which is my favourite colour, I throw them in my bag and put them on all day every day to brighten and freshen up any look. I absolutely adore everything about the glosses, they last for ages, aren't too sticky and just make my lips look flawless - even if I do say so myself. These products are just what I've been looking for and I think the glosses are going to be perfect for my travels over Easter as they'll completely hydrate my lips whilst keeping them shiny, plump and wrinkle free. Thank you Urban Decay for always creating amazing products. As ever, I always give me 100% honest opinion on all products that I review, press samples or not press samples.

You can get the products/find out more information on their site here.

Have you used any Urban Decay products? What's your favourite Urban Decay product? Have you used the Naked skin/lip range? Do you like the look of these products?

Lots of love, Em x
