The Best French Pharmacy Beauty Products

What To Buy From A French Pharmacy

Hello! So I decided to do a round up of my favourite French beauty products because this month, Escentual has 1/3 off lots of favourite French pharmacy brands. They've topped up my supplies and kindly sent me a few bits to try but also, I thought I'd gather up all my other favourite French products so that I can share them with you. I remember doing a lot of research online before my first trip to Paris, I really wanted to figure out what to buy whilst out there so hopefully this might help some of you find some exciting new products! Once upon a time, you had to actually go to France to buy French beauty products, I'm still not sure how I feel about them now being readily available in Boots and online, I kind of liked needing an excuse to shop around Paris for all my favourite pieces but it's great for those of us (me included) who can't always get to France. Let's talk French beauty!...

Nuxe Paris -  Nuxe is actually a brand that I've never used before or bought myself in France but one that I've always wanted to try. I was kindly sent these to try by Escentual as part of their French pharmacy campaign. I will be using these on my holiday in July. I've heard so many bloggers rave about Nuxe so I felt like I had to choose some Nuxe items whilst I had the chance. I'm actually doing some blogging in Paris in July so I can't wait to see how much Nuxe products are over there.

I haven't used the sun care products yet but I can tell you that the Reve De Miel lip balm, a beauty blogger favourite, is unbelievable and I can see why. This honey lip balm is more than beautiful and I always find that French lip balms are unbeatable, I have too many lip balms from France, I don't know why but they just seem better than the standard lip balms. I can't wait to try the dry oil spray too. You can currently get 1/3 off all Nuxe products on Escentual which makes them extremely affordable.

Yves Rocher - I fell in love with Yves Rocher when I went into their store on the Champs Elysees in Paris, everything is so amazing. It kind of reminds me of a French version of The Body Shop, everything smells great. I picked up the Derma-Soothing Cleansing Milk which was so cheap in France but it's quite expensive online, some shampoo, some soap and their little eau de toilettes to throw in my bag the last time I went to Paris.

yves rocher peach eau de toilette
I love the mini perfumes from Yves Rocher, I went for yellow peach and strawberry and I just throw them in my handbag so that I always smell yummy. I love how fruity and dinky they are.

Vichy - My favourite brand when it comes to French pharmacies, it's cheaper in France but now it's come to England I can't complain. I'm excited that it's now everywhere so I can now try all the new pieces but it kind of has taken away a bit of the love for me as I liked to be able to look forward to trips to Paris to stock up on my Vichy. Escentual also has 1/3 off Vichy which is just fabulous for all of us. You can read about some of my fave Vichy products here.

vichy capital soleil spf 50 bb cream

The new SPF BB Cream by Vichy literally looks and feels incredible, it's just unfortunate that I don't wear factor 50 on my face. I know I should, I don't want to get wrinkles but I love having a natural tan on my face and I seriously can't give that up. I think I'll probably wear this when it's not sunny instead. I think this will actually be more of a winter BB cream for me as the sun is still damaging in the cold weather because it's so low, perfect for my trip to Canada.

Look how dreamy it is, I'll definitely be wearing this whilst skiing in chilly Canada!

Vichy's other new products (which again, I'll be able to give more of an in depth review of after my holiday) will hopefully be just as good as my usual Vichy faves, Vichy derma-blend foundation (my all time favourite and Vichy translucent powder, another product I'm currently obsessed with.

Pulpe De Vie - Another amazing French brand, 'organic skin-care made from fresh fruit'. This 'shake me baby' 4 in 1 facial cleanser is made with tomato and grapefruit and kind of epitomises everything I love about French products, usually they're kind to the skin, soothing, natural and they actually work. This really does. It doesn't work when removing eye make up but it does remove normal make up, I actually prefer this to Bioderma.

Caudalie - Caudalie is actually the first brand I bought when I was in Paris and I think it will always be one of my favourites. The items above are items I've owned for a while, I've owned lots of Caudalie products, including their beauty elixir, their lipbalms (they're amazing and so are their handcreams). Caudalie is a fabulous brand and currently there's 1/5 off it at Escentual.

bioderma
Bioderma - Another one of my favourite brands and one of the most well known ones. In France, you can buy these in double and quadruple packs for half the price of them in Britain but still, a favourite brand of mine and if you can't get to France, you can now buy them from fabulous sites. Hooray for amazing cleansers at home.

I really do love French skincare and always have done, this post has made me want to book a quick trip to France though because you really can't beat looking around the pharmacies for new, exciting brands. Last week, I was told that I'll be going to Paris in July for a blogger challenge, I am literally so excited to pick up some new exciting French bits and bobs so do leave a comment below and let me know what I should get this time!

An old post, but you can read all about my blogging trip to Paris here and see what I picked up when I was there!

What are your favourite French pharmacy products? Do you like any of the above?

Lots of love, Em x

  12. Great products Em! Luckily in Canada most pharmacies carry French beauty products so they are readily available, such as in Pharmaprix (aka French version of Shoppers Drug Mart) or Jean Coutu - hint hint you'll get to enjoy while in Montreal! Would love to go to France one day! :) xx
