Hello and happy Sunday! I am so sorry I haven't blogged for a few days, I've been having a few technical issues but I'm back now! I've done quite a lot with my weekends recently so I thought I'd invite you to come and have some fun with me....
Last weekend we decided to make a rainy Friday evening a bit more fun and relax after a hectic week. We spent the night in my cinema room with fresh home-made pizzas...
If you want to take a look at my recipe you can find it on my healthy pizza making post here - they're so delicious and full of yummy fresh ingredients - stay away from the salami and keep the cheese low and you can make them pretty guilt-free!
I got into my pyjamas (cosy nights in are the new going out). I'm obsessed with pyjamas at the moment, I just want to buy every cute set I see. I think I'm getting in the mood for Winter. Below you can see a little bit of pj inspiration... I may just have to buy the whole Topshop nightwear range soon.
We drizzled some olive oil over our bases to make them more authentic Italian... (apparently)
...basil too
and a sprinkle of parmesan.
Topped with not so healthy meat and lots of veg, it was time to get cosy in the cinema room and tuck into our cheesy pizzas.
and then it was the hardest moment of the night, deciding what to watch.
Knowing I love TV and fashion, it was actually right up my street and got me in the mood to watch some fashionable people on my screen. Rachel Green from Friends ranked extremely high and I do love Jennifer Anniston (my girl crush) so we put Friends on to begin with. I love Friends, I think it's such an easy watch, and nothing beats watching an episode of Friends whilst stuffing yourself with home-made pizza! I'm also going to New York very soon so it got me really excited about visiting the big apple and hopefully seeing where Friends was filmed (and Central Perk for myself!)
The next morning I took my new gym kit for a test run...
I can't wait to properly get back into my fitness and buying new gym kit inspires me. We went shopping in York and I decided to get some new 'Winter gym kit'.
You can get the running bottoms here from Very, or the exact ones from John Lewis here. I'd highly recommend them, they're probably my favourite running trousers ever. I can't find the top online anywhere but this one is from Nike and they have some gorgeous ones online at the moment here. I wrote all about my gym kit in a recent blog post here if you're interested in that!
The next day it was time to feed some animals. I jumped off the train and headed to a local farm...
These photos are all from my new camera, it was nice to practice with it at the weekend.
We fed the goats some cornflakes
what a little cutie...
I wanted to steal them all.
The ducks certainly didn't like us as much as the goats did.
I fell in love with the most gorgeous little lamb...
(I took this on my iphone but how cute)
After lots of animal feeding it was time to tuck into some British brunch... if you watched my British tag video you'll know just how much I love all things British, so I could hardly turn down a scone! I'll massively miss British brunch when I'm in New York, maybe I should invite the Friends cast over to sample some British delights?
A quick sip of ginger beer and it was time to say goodbye to the farm.
We got home and relaxed whilst catching up on Orange Is The New Black (I'm hooked - my favourite TV series at the moment)
and I admired my new Daniel Wellington Grace watch. My gorgeous skirt is from Primark! Similar on ASOS here and Missguided here and here.
That evening we decided to check out the sunset...
we walked through the woods...
and came across the most beautiful sunset.
we walked home by the moon. Whilst I love the idea of visiting New York, I'm going to miss British evenings like these.
Once home, we tested out the black and white mode on my camera.
Jumper: (Jack's) Aubin & Wills, similar below! (Boys jumpers are so much better than girls)
The next day we headed to Formby beach...
We started on the squirrel walk and searched for the famous red squirrels...
I wasn't dressed for the weather so borrowed Jack's gorgeous jumper again (it will soon be mine).
It got a little bit warmer and I took the jumper off.
Jeans: Topshop \ Sandals: New Look \ Top: River Island \ Watch: Daniel Wellington \ Hair: Natural bush as I'm trying to let it grow!
We played hide and seek and I kind of felt like I was in an episode of The Hunger Games (we got lost in the vast woods) so we decided to head for the beach
We eventually found the beach...
Whilst it wasn't like the clear waters of Jamaica, nothing beats a walk in the cool British breeze with your favourite person...
Me instagramming my sandals like you do...
Jack instagramming me...
We walked up the sand dunes to have a sit down
It kind of looks more like America than Liverpool.
Windswept and chilly, I still made sure I had an ice cream to end the day.
So there we have it, an extra long post to apologise for me not blogging for a few days (blame my laptop). I am back now though and have so much exciting news and things to share with you, I'm pretty excited and I hope you are too!
What have you been up to? Do you like the seaside? Have you ever been on a squirrel walk? Do you love rainy Friday nights in?
Lots of love, Em x

ReplyDeleteI've been to Formby beach and I love it. We weren't able to see the red squirrels, maybe because they were afraid of our dog.
