Hello, so firstly I'd like to apologise as this post was meant to go live yesterday! Secondly, I'm excited because I've nearly finished putting a Canada vlog together, eek (youtube.com/emshelx) and last but not least, here is another post about my Canadian adventures and I'm so excited about this one. I'd like to apologise in advance as this is ridiculously food heavy but the minute I arrived at this market I knew that I had to share it with you all, I think you'll appreciate the scrumptious, fresh delights on offer and probably want to book a flight over here right away...come and join me in foodie heaven...
So as most of you know, I'm still exploring Montreal, there is so much to see and do here, I feel like I've only just begun. At the weekend, I decided to head over to Jean Talon Market, lots of locals recommended it...
A 15 minute tube from down-town Montreal and you're in fresh food heaven.
I don't know how people choose which fruit to buy, you are over-whelmed by choice.
We arrived at the market feeling hungry but we left feeling too full after trying too many juicy samples...
I'm not even a big veggie lover but this market could turn anyone into a health lover because everything looks so fresh and delicious, it makes you want to cook.

I'm going to start visiting food markets every time I travel now after seeing how good this one was, when I went to Paris, I feel like I should have visited a food market!
I think the chilli section was probably my favourite.
Once you've filled your bags with fruit and veg, you can always head to the flower stalls.
Naturally there's also a huge meat and fish section...
but my senses led me to the beauty section...
I'm a sucker for anything with lavender on it.. (blame lvndr)
and I almost felt like I was in Lush when I smelt these soaps.
The fun doesn't stop there...
and beautiful macaroons.
Whilst it doesn't look like much, I promise it tasted good.
I left market one with delicious macaroons, a sunflower and a belly full of fruit.
The following weekend we headed to Atwater on an awfully gloomy day. We were told that Atwater is much better than Jean Talon but personally I found it a lot smaller.
The flower selection was a lot better here however if you're wanting a nice bouquet it will cost you a lot of money.
I also found scones which made me especially excited, you must know after reading this just how much I love my British scones.
On a hot day, I'd definitely buy some strawberries and cream and sit by the river.
The chocolate section was by far my favourite...
Not forgetting the pumpkins either.
We were told to eat at the Satay Brothers for lunch
and they really didn't dissapoint.
I headed home with some creamy chocolates, a scone which was eaten before it could even be photographed...
and some beautiful flowers.
Have you ever been to any markets like this? Do you love all the bright colours and amazing food? Would you like to visit?
Lots of love, Em x
