I can see why people talk about 'fall' (Autumn) so much in America/Canada, it's absolutely stunning. The leaves, the houses, the decor, fall is so much more than just a season here, they really embrace everything about it. Whilst in New York, I obviously had to spend some time in Central Park, it's something I've dreamt of doing for as long as I can remember. I feel like we chose the perfect day, the sun was shining, there was a slight chill in the air, the park wasn't too busy and the leaves looked truly stunning. Come and cycle through Central Park with me and I'll show you around...
We rented some bikes and started cycling round, along the way we kept chaining our bikes up and stopping off and taking in different areas of the park...
From city views...
to the huge lake...
and then, we decided to take in some sunshine on some random rocks.
The sun couldn't make it's mind up, one minute it was boiling and the next, a chilly wind came...
We made the most of this hot spell and just sat down for a little while. All that was missing was ice cream.
I think this is my favourite two piece ever. Of course it's from MissGuided, my favourite one-stop shop for co-ordinates. You can get it the top online here and the shorts online here. The top is so versatile and I actually wore it with a few different outfits whilst in New York (see that on my NYC look-book video). Sunglasses: C/O Sunglasses shop here - I'm so happy I went for this pair. I love them so much. I think I'm a little bit obsessed with two-pieces, it's becoming a problem. I can't stop reading the Yahoo! Style blog either which is also making me spend so much money on more clothes.
Hundreds of people were running around the park...
I however, continued to cycle...in very a very inappropriate cycling outfit...
I didn't keep my eyes on the road and actually fell on my bike about a minute after this was taken.
At least my sunglasses stayed intact, it's a shame I can't say the same about my almost broken knee caps. I'm worse than a child.
I was in absolute agony for the rest of the day but I wasn't going let a few bumps and bruises spoil my day.
Couples, friends and families all rowed along the lake - I somehow managed to get back on my bike
as we continued to cycle, we could see the city poking through the greenery - I personally think it's so beautiful to have this gorgeous, inner city park.
As the wind came back, I put my trusty coat back on - similar, affordable versions here, here and here at Missguided - I paid an outrageous price for it at H&M and wish I just got it from Missguided. The good thing is, anything goes in New York - people dress incredibly. I read about New York fashion week on Yahoo! Style and definitely want to go back to New York now when fashion week is on.
We stopped to have a look at the fountain...
as did every other tourist in the park that day.
Bruised and bleeding, I couldn't resist a quick photo by the lake. I actually ripped my shorts all the way down when I fell and didn't realise until after I'd taken this photo.
We ended our cycle tour just near to 5th avenue so we could do some shopping afterwards and once again, were blown away by this magnificent leafy yet city view.
Central Park is better than I ever imagined and I'm already longing to go back.
You can read my first New York blog post here and you can catch up with my Canadian adventures here.
Lots of love, Em x
