Ah a beauty review, how I have missed writing about beauty products in the past few weeks! This is the first BareMinerals product I've ever used and I am excited to be sharing it with you today. I've wanted to use BareMinerals for ages because I've heard how good it is for your skin, so let's see how I got on with the new Pure Brightening Serum Foundation...
Packaging first, well, I love it. If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know by now that I am the biggest lover of simplistic packaging and this ticks all the boxes where packaging is concerned.
The thing that initially drew me to this foundation is the 'pure brightening' part of the name, I love anything that's going to give me a dewy, highlighted look - this is so much than just a foundation, it's a tone-correcting mineral foundation with a brightening serum inside it too. According to BareMinerals, this is an ultra-thin, skin-perfecting fluid which provides adjustable coverage, a natural finish and it will make your complexion brighter and more youthful. I personally didn't find the coverage adjustable, it did go on like water to begin with and really reminded me of the L'Oreal Nude Magique foundation. I think it's very important that you shake the bottle before you use it to make it less watery.
The finish is very natural and really nice but not something you'd wear on bad skin days, it's very much like a kind-to-skin tinted moisturiser and I like it because it's skincare within a foundation, this fixes your skin whilst kind of covering it up. It kind of reminds me of my favourite Bourjois CC cream without the coverage. I absolutely adore S5's skin illuminating serum - something I've raved about a lot of times and this foundation basically has an illuminator built into it (plus vitamin c and lilac plant stem cells).
The website does recommend that 5 drops of this will give you a full coverage so maybe I just need to work with this more and put a little bit more on my face to get that nice, full coverage.
To conclude, I think I need to wear this a little bit more in order to properly try it out and see if I actually like it 100%. I'm more of a medium coverage girl but I think this will be my go-to on really good skin days. I love the brightening affects and do actually think it's probably more of a Summer/good skin day tinted moisturiser.
I found this for only £17 online here at Nordstrom and for that price, I really don't think you can go wrong. They do ship to the UK but if you're wanting a UK based site it's £26 online here at Debenhams.
Have you used BareMinerals before? Have you seen this product? Are you also into illuminating and highlighting the skin?
Lots of love, Em x
