It was a very exciting day when I found out that Urban Decay had kindly sent me some of the amazing Pulp Fiction range to have a play around with. I have been eyeing up this in every single beauty shop. I know this review is late (so many people have reviewed the range already), but hey, better late than never and I am so excited to talk to you about this beautiful range which actually, shocked me a little bit... click read more to find out why.
So firstly, I have to admit that I've never seen Pulp Fiction - who even am I? But after a bit of research, I understand the looks that Urban Decay were trying to create with this palette (the Pulp Fiction range came out to celebrate Pulp Fiction's 20th Anniversary) and I'd say they get them pretty spot on. This palette is designed to recreate Mrs Mia Wallace's sultry, smoky look and I think they've got it just right, without too much darkness. Sometimes smoky palettes tend to be way too dark and totally wash me out. My favourite thing about Urban Decay palettes has to be the brushes though - the brushes are always so good for blending and much better than any other eye brushes I've ever used.
The colours look pretty dull and they're not half as sparkly or exciting as some Urban Decay colours but they do recreate a basic, smoky eye look which is what this palette intends. I feel like this is such a good palette to buy for someone who likes to create a nice simple lok. The best thing about this palette? It only costs £17.50 which I think is exceptionally priced. It's still available to buy on Selfirges here.
I always love Benefit because their products come with a handy little guide, so do Too Faced palettes so it's lovely to see the same from Urban Decay.
Next up is the Urban Decay Revolution Pulp Fiction Lipstick in Miss Mia Wallace. I actually featured this on my November Favourites video and I am so in love with it. This is a blood red colour and it absolutely shocked me because it looks almost dull on the stick, but when you apply it, it almost comes to life. I think this is my favourite red lipstick ever. Bold statement but I love it so much.
Naturally I love the liner too. I have become obsessed with lip pencils recently as you'll know if you read my big, emphasised natural lips blog post. As with all Urban Decay products, the staybility is amazing. I'd personally always wear this with the lipstick otherwise the lipstick probably would spread/bleed a little bit on the lips. This liner makes your lips look bigger and keeps the lipstick in place. I was never a liner girl before but now I've started, I'm never going to stop using them.
I've saved my absolute favourite product until last, the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter liner. If you've been reading my blog for some time you may remember how in love I fell with Urban Decay's glitter pots and this is just as magical - it's more of a dark glitter so it fits the Pulp Fiction set really well but it's still sparkly and therefore, it's a total winner for me! I can't find it online anywhere but they have some similar ones here. These gorgeous, sparkly liners are only £14.00!
Whether you've watched Pulp Fiction or not, this collection is epic for anyone - Urban Decay always get everything so right, the lipstick is perfect, the liner is a dream come true, the palette is affordable and will work for everyone because it's nice and neutral and the heavy metal liner is oh so sparkly! What more could you want from a collection? Plus, the prices are so nice! Hooray for Urban Decay once again.
Have you ever watched Pulp Fiction? Do you like this set? Do you like Urban Decay?
Lots of love, Em x
