Hello everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I wasn't going to write this blog post, particularly because I just wrote my What I Got For My 21st Birthday post, but I have loved reading people's 'what I got for Christmas' posts and I decided I may as well write one too! I don't want the festivities to end just yet so if I can hold onto them for just a little longer that would be amazing. I am totally fine with people sharing their lovely presents, I think people can be so negative and it really upsets me to see so many people getting offended by people sharing their gifts on social media; seriously, find something meaningful to moan about. Let's change the world by moaning about things that truly matter. If people want to share their gifts, then don't be the Grinch, just let them. I am extremely grateful and for me, Christmas truly is about who's around the tree. I couldn't have asked for a better day with my lovely, small family. Enough of the negativity, let's talk about Christmas!!!
I didn't particularly ask for anything this Christmas, just a few make up items and comfortable pyjamas. All I wanted this Christmas, was to see my family. Travelling made me miss them far too much. I never really ask for much anymore, particularly because my 21st birthday (read about that here) was 3 days before Christmas and I got so many lovely things for that!
So, let's talk about some of the things I did get! I won't bore you with it all, but let's take a little look at some bits and bobs! Nutella with my name on it (2 jars because my family know me so well!)
The loveliest card from my Mum
Molton Brown bath baubles
A personalised Aspinal diary - hands down, my favourite leather brand in the world.
An endless supply of my favourite chocolate (I've already eaten 3 bars)
The Nars Domination palette - full review coming your way very soon (I can't wait to get my beauty blogging head on!)
Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation
MAC Lipsticks
Hair bits and bobs
Beautiful lingerie
Some exciting and funny books (I can't wait to get stuck into my Lonely Planet tales of food, pleasure and discovery book!)
Too much chocolate (hey, you can never have too much chocolate)
Enough cosy pyjamas to last me a lifetime
My favourite Burberry perfume
The cosiest socks for the ski trips I have planned next year
This beautiful sporty lingerie set from Nasty Gal
Some cute pieces of clothing (my Mum found this t-shirt particularly Instagrammable - expect to see it on my Instagram: emshelx - very soon)
Gorgeous Jack Wills mittens
Every year, my Grandma makes me a big hamper of essentials, things I can use throughout the year, she basically gets me a yearly supply of deodorant, toothpaste, body wash and trust me - it comes in handy! She is a life saver - I do love practical gifts.
My friend made me a personalised calendar which I will cherish forever
More socks
More pyjamas - Frozen style!
The Topshop jeans of my dreams
More cosy pieces
The dreamiest Zara boots
A post-box filled to the brim with chocolates
A gorgeous Zara turtle neck
The prettiest skirt
A Guess bracelet
My favourite gradual tanner
New carry on luggage for my travels (so exciting!)
My favourite Lush goodies
A lavender bath bomb of course!
A beautiful Christmas gift from the lovely ladies at Benefit - I can't wait to use it all
The dreamiest candle
My boys, in CD form.
So there we have it! I didn't want to go into too much detail about it all as I wrote about my birthday and all those gifts in lots and detail! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I think Christmas can be such a lonely, sad time for some people and I really want to just spread some festive cheer. I hope you all ate too much, giggled too much, caught up with the amazing people in your lives and relaxed! I love giving presents and this year, was particularly special for me because I had bought my Mum and brother gifts from each different place I visited on my travels, they ended up with things from Cuba, Boston, New York, Canada and more so it was really exciting and special. Christmas day was a camera free zone for me (the one day ever!), but I did take a few selfies on my phone, so here I am on Christmas day, I hope you like my outfit of the day...
For more photos like above, don't forget to follow me on Instagram (emshelx). Wearing my Topshop teddy bear dressing gown with my new MAC Lady Danger lipstick as my Christmas outfit of the day! For me, Christmas is a pyjama zone only!
Merry Christmas everyone - Please do let me know what you got below and tell me what you did this Christmas! I'd love to know! Let's keep the festive talk going...
Lots of love, Em x
