Shopping in Chicago; Wearing Butterfly Twists!

UK lifestyle blog
Hello hello hello! So as most of you know, I was recently in Chicago! If you missed my first blog post about my time in Chicago you can read that here. Trust me, my first few days were amazing (and serious food porn happened so you should definitely catch up on my journey!). Whilst in Chicago, I also did a spot, okay, a lot, of shopping and actually discovered one of my favourite shopping areas ever, so I thought I'd take you with me...

After a long day of sight-seeing (more on that very soon when part 2 of my Chicago trip post goes live) it was time to put on my trusty Butterfly Twists to keep my feet comfortable - let's just say, too much walking = achey feet. Chicago is famous for it's Magnificent Mile, aka, a mile of incredible shops - once you get to the bottom - like really far down at the bottom, I would say a little bit further than a mile, you come to a nice area called Oak Street and trust me, it is designer heaven (even if you are just window shopping!). If you missed my blog post about Butterfly Twists, read that here to get up to date! Basically, Butterfly Twists are super duper comfortable, foldable shoes and trust me, I needed them once I got down to Oak Street. They're not those awful foldable shoes though which are obvious foldable shoes, they're actually nice foldable shoes (they just look like ballet pumps) which look beautiful on and are a true pleasure to wear. Shopping = the need for comfort which is why I put mine on and took my clunky boots off.

I went for the brogue still ballerinas (and the tassels really won me over too) - you can see them online here.  They are great quality, super comfortable but suede gets dirty quite easily so next time I would go for some wipeable ones (there are so many options, the site is like shoe heaven).

We wandered across from Marc Jacobs

The State/Oak street area of Chicago is just full of the most amazing shops, everywhere you turn; Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, YSL, Hermes, Barneys, Louboutin and so many more. It's like designer heaven and it truly is Chicago's luxury shopping area.  It's safe to say I fell in love with everything.

My bag is an old one from Zara (still trying to convince myself to buy my dream Burberry bag and replace it)

and my sunglasses are my favourite Ray-Bans.

I'm glad I went for the shoes in black because I find that black just goes with every single outfit - so you really can just put these in your bag and throw them on with pretty much anything. I love the little bag that comes with them too - you can neatly throw them in there and not worry about having loose shoes in your bag. I thought this dress would only look good with heels but I personally think it still looks nice with flats, happy Em and happy feet! Get ready for some more Chicago posts!

Do you like foldable shoes? Have you heard of Butterfly Twists? How do you feel about foldable shoes? Do you want to visit Chicago?

*This post was sponsored by Butterfly Twist shoes but as always, this is my 100% honest opinion.

Lots of love, Em x
