Sunday Roast At Gaucho

sunday roast at gauchoOne of my favourite things to eat? Steak. One of my favourite, all time restaurants? Gaucho. One of my favourite pastimes? Sunday roast. When Gaucho invited me to sample their Sunday roast, I couldn't say no could I? All of my favourite things, together. Family come first for me, so I took them down to experience Gaucho (trust me, Gaucho is so much more than just food, it is an experience and if good service and insanely perfect food is your thing, you better keep on reading...) - I apologise in advance, your mouth is probably going to water...

Huddled away on Park Row, if you blink, you'd miss this underground paradise (don't worry if you're not Leeds based, they have Gaucho in other cities too)

I wore my new two-piece from The Fifth Label, with my favourite Missguided jacket.

You can get the dress version of this two piece here and the top online here / Jacket / Shoes

We wandered down the stairs and were greeted by the loveliest man who looked after us.

Grandad surveyed the menu

I surveyed the beautiful interior

If you didn't already know, Gaucho is an Argentinian steak restaurant with restaurants around England and honestly, I've never heard anything bad about them. We sat at the bar and nibbled on some delicious cuts of meat.

Me and Mum went for non-alcoholic cocktails (it was midday!). When it comes to cocktails, I'm pretty fussy so I asked if they could make me something off the menu, they completely made me something from scratch for me and it was absolutely perfect - I love places that cater to their guests like this.

After a few delicious drinks, we headed into the eating area

Sunday roasts have only just been introduced to Gaucho - it's a new thing and I am so glad this exists now. In England, Sunday roasts are a big thing (people I've met on my travels haven't heard of them!?) it must be a British thing - but obviously, Gaucho do it with their Argentinian twist. It's a set menu but there's quite a lot of choice - it comes in at around £25 each which is very well priced for somewhere as high-class as Gaucho - as I said, it's about the food and the experience - Gaucho is so much more than just food.

We chatted whilst looking over the menu... I was stuck between the soup and the chorizo

before we'd ordered, they came and brought us the meat to show us what we'd get if we ordered beef. You can read more about this here, when I wrote about my first experience dining at Gaucho - it's such a nice, impressive touch though and you can ask so many questions about the meat.

We were brought some bread to nibble on and trust me, it was delicious. Argentinian bread is officially my favourite.

Mum went for the mackerel

I went for the chorizo - heaven in my mouth.

The others got the soup - very good feedback all round.

The mains came and looked too good to eat. Mum and my Grandma went for the chicken

the roast potatoes were succulent and truly divine. I only like crispy roast potatoes so these were perfection for me - the kind of potatoes that are crispy on the outside and then melt in your mouth like butter.

Me and the boys went for the beef - of course

our lovely waitress cut it for us - my Grandad was so eager to tuck right in, it was like torture watching it be chopped in front of us, we were like vultures ready to pounce on it.

It oozed with deliciousness. It doesn't look like there's much there but we didn't finish it!

We got some more drinks to go with our dessert - I opted for green tea

My brother went for sorbet

Mum went for the mango

My Grandad only eats ice cream so he was thrilled when they said they'd give him vanilla ice cream. Seriously, he only eats vanilla ice cream. He's missing out on the wonderful world of desserts.

I went for the rhubarb mousse and oh my gosh it was heavenly, so much so that I had to ask the chef exactly how he made it! On a side note, I wore a new Kiko lip liner as a lipstick and I literally love it so much, a perfect neutral yet coral colour for Summer?!

Another sip of tea later

and then it was time to leave, feeling satisfied, full and very happy. It's safe to say I was in a meat coma. I actually wasn't too full though, I was nicely full. My Grandad is the hardest person to please, particularly when it comes to food and it's worth noting that he was blown away by the food - he honestly didn't moan and hasn't stopped talking about how good it is. My Grandma has a small appetite and she adored every last bite. I've been wanting to take my Mum here for ages and she very much approved. I am so glad I could finally take my family here because I haven't stopped talking about how delicious the meat is (the best steak I've ever eaten) since I went here the first time. Gaucho is a place which is great for experiences, their Sunday roast allows you to have that amazing Gaucho experience (epic service, epic food and just top quality culinary standards) without paying a really expensive price for dinner. It's completely worth the price (£25 for Sunday roast sounds expensive but this is Gaucho, the best steak restaurant ever and I promise the service and food is truly insane). I understand that bills etc don't always permit £100+ on a meal which is why eating at Gaucho on an evening is more of an occasion thing for most, but if you do want something fancy/the chance to try Gaucho without the price tag, it's worth spending the £30 max on this epic Sunday roast one week. Trust me, you won't regret it. I cannot fault Gaucho, in any way.

If you missed my first review of Gaucho - you can read that here and read all about the best steak I've ever eaten.

Are you a Sunday roast lover? Are you a Gaucho lover? Have you heard of Gaucho or ever visited Gaucho? Do you love steak? Do you like the look of this?

Lots of love, Em x
