Today we're talking about teeth whitening! I am all for trying new teeth whitening products because who doesn't want nice white teeth? I actually haven't done a teeth whitening review in quite some time. The last teeth whitening review I did went down incredibly well though so I thought I'd do another today. I am such a lover of white teeth and I am always on the lookout for new whitening products that actually work. I love it when my teeth feel bright and white. I was naturally very excited then when I was introduced to Doll White, a teeth whitener which I personally thinks rivals the famous US Crest strips. Let's talk...
Doll White is simple in both it's packaging and it's approach to teeth whitening, it's not fancy, it just does what it's supposed to do - whitens the teeth. I am no expert on teeth/teeth whitening (find out more about healthy teeth on the NHS site as I am no expert so please don't think I'm claiming to be!) , this is just my honest review of using these strips.
The box comes with simple instructions on the back anyway, it's pretty fool proof, you literally take the strips off the packaging and then place onto your teeth and push, then leave for 30 minutes. I brush again after the 30 minutes just to get rid of any residue left on my teeth.
I'm always quite cautious about what I put on my teeth as I don't want to ruin them. If you read my beauty taboos post or watched my beauty taboos video you'll know that I had braces for 3 years and really disliked my teeth as a child so for me, teeth are really important and keeping them in good condition and good health is too. The Centre of Advanced Dentistry in Yorkshire (my home town!!!) are one of the few decent companies I've found in my professional teeth whitening search journey, I am currently looking into getting them professionally whitened there once I run out of Doll Whites and when speaking to them, they explained to me that there are a large number of beauty salons in the UK who are currently offering illegal tooth whitening treatments, despite the substantial risk they pose to the customer’s teeth - not cool at all. This makes me really sad - if you do want white teeth, please make sure you go somewhere proper (your dentist) or use non-damaging things or a harmless toothpaste, obviously you're not going to get bleached white teeth but that's not good for your teeth. I'd rather my teeth not be bright white and them not be damaged! Basically, get advice from your dentist.
Back to the strips; they didn't tingle or hurt at all, usually I get really annoyed having things stuck to my teeth for ages whilst I wait but you can't really tell with these ones at all, they're easy to stick down and you don't really realise they're even on as they sit so comfortably. It's a very quick process and one which you can easily fit into your daily routine. After 7 days I had seen a difference, not a crazy difference but some staining on my front tooth had gone.
My teeth certainly do look so much more whiter I'd say and the stain has gone! All in all, I am very impressed particularly for the price point - professional teeth whitening will set you back from around £300-£1000 but these strips are simple and easy and won't break the bank at just £19.99. Fair enough, they didn't work over-night and my teeth weren't crazily whiter but, after 14 days my teeth do feel and look a lot whiter and my bank balance is still intact.
You can buy them online here for just £19.99!
Can you recommend any teeth whitening products? Have you come across Doll White yet? Have you ever tried anything like this? Have you ever had your teeth professionally whitened?
*These were kindly sent to me by Doll White but as always this is 100% my honest opinion.
Lots of love, Em x
