AVEENO Body Products Review - Inside & Oat Challenge Results

As most of you know, last week I was sent a pretty incredible box brimming with goodies as a way of taking on a little well-being challenge to make my skin glow. I absolutely love pampering my body with lovely, hydrating products in the run up to Summer so I feel like this fits in perfectly seen as Summer is well on it's way! So how do I feel? Let's discuss...

The challenge:

Firstly, make sure you read my first post about the challenge so that you understand what's going on! I was given a personalised healthy shopping list and new AVEENO products in order to see if they make my skin glow after 1 week of using them. AVEENO believe that beautiful skin is a reflection of what you put into your body too, hence the lovely diet and well-being plan they sent me. I personally don't think 1 week is long enough to see a result diet-wise, I read somewhere that it takes a minimum of 4 weeks to see a change in your body and 12 weeks for other people to see it, however, with beauty body products I often see instant changes, for example with the AVEENO products my skin was glowing straight after applying it all over my legs and felt soft all week long. I love waking up and still feeling soft and moisturised. When it comes to eating healthily, yes you may not see 'weight' drop straight off you or instant changes in your body shape, but I do always feel incredible about myself when I've been eating well, even if it is just for a week. It certainly does make me feel like my skin is glowing. Eating good things makes me feel confident and glowing anyway, it may just be endorphins but it's true, good food generally makes me feel fabulous. Now it's time for me to review the new AVEENO products I got to try and see how they worked alongside the healthy shopping list I was given...

Things I've been doing more of:

As mentioned in my first post about the challenge, I already feel like I live a pretty balanced lifestyle anyway and really try to eat well and work out lots. There are two things I've really been trying to do more of though from the plan AVEENO sent me though:

- Drinking more water - We all know how good water is for us but I still find it so difficult to drink more. I've been adding lemon into mine every morning and making sure I drink three litres a day. Drinking water is so good for you, it flushes toxins out, it hydrates you from within and it makes you glow so I'm really focusing on this. It really is key when it comes to making the skin glow.

- Getting more sleep - Sleep is so important and I'm guilty of always burning the candle at both ends, because of this, I've been trying to get more sleep so I can function better and my body has the chance to repair itself over night.

- Exercising in the morning - I personally don't think it matters when you exercise, just try to fit it in when you can but I have been exercising in the morning and then eating my breakfast straight afterwards, apparently this means your body is burning more and you are doing your work out on a fasted stomach which apparently is good for you when it comes to burning more fat! I crave my food so much more and feel like I've earned it when I work out hard beforehand, it is difficult though!

As well as trying to do the things above more for a week (although I'll be continuing as I feel great for it), I've also been using a few new AVEENO products which I'll be reviewing below. AVEENO is all about the benefits of oats in skincare, you may remember the daily moisturising lotion from my blog post all about my skincare secrets.  AVEENO products are specially formulated to gently cleanse and moisturise dry, sensitive and irritated skin. The moisturising products are fast absorbing, non-greasy and provide moisture for 24 hours so perfect in the run up to Summer. Sign me up!

THE BENEFITS OF OATS IN SKINCARE:

HYDRATES: helps to restore and protect the skin’s natural barrier helping to prevent water loss and maintain moisture
SOOTHES: oatmeal is known for its soothing benefits on sensitive skin
CLEANSES: the oat particles adhere to dirt and dead skin cells allowing them to be washed away
PROTECTS: creates a protective film on the surface of the skin
BUFFERS: helps return skin to normal pH levels

- Daily Moisturising Lotion:

I've actually been using the AVEENO daily moisturising lotion for quite some time, it's one of the best moisturisers in the run up to Summer. It's clinically proven to help improve dry skin from day one and I personally use it mainly on my legs as they're easily the roughest, driest part of my skin. This contains active colloidal oatmeal. I love naturally occurring ingredients in products. It's fast absorbing and non-greasy which for me is so important. It only cost £5.00 too.

- Moisturising Creamy Oil:

Okay this is my new favourite, it moisturises like an oil but absorbs like a cream. I adore this because I love how instantly glowy oils make my skin look. As well as naturally active oatmeal, this contains sweet almond oil too. It has no greasy after feel but just makes my body feel amazing.

- Body Wash:

I didn't know that AVEENO did body washes until now but this is great because it almost feels like you're moisturising the skin whilst showering. This contains active oat essence and cleanses the skin without drying.

- Hand Cream:

I'm not a huge hand cream fan but this one is nice because it's fast absorbing and non-greasy so I don't get that clammy feeling I often get with hand creams!

All in all, I definitely feel like a good, well-balanced diet, regular exercise, more sleep, more water, less stress and good natural products do make your skin glow but also, make you feel better. If you read my little things that make me feel happy post you'll know that I really do think it's the little changes that help the most, a good moisturiser, good food, exercise, cutting out badness and trust me, you'll glow all over!

Have you ever used AVEENO before? Do you like the sound of AVEENO? How do you feel about eating well, do you feel like it makes your skin glow?

*Sponsored by AVEENO but as always, my 100% honest opinion!

Lots of love, Em x
