Any regular EmTalks reader will know that lace is my thang. Oh and all white. When do I not wear lace or all white? It's definitely a weekly occurrence during the brighter months. If you've been reading my travel posts, you'll know that! In London recently, I was given the perfect opportunity to throw on my favourite lace dress and heels as I headed out for date night with Matt.
I just think lace is the easiest thing to wear. It's formal, it's clean, it's fresh but it wont ever go out of style. Lace goes with everything, whether it's a pair of sunglasses, a straw hat, a leather jacket. You can really play lace up or equally, dress it down. Imagine this dress with a beach bag, straw hat and sandals? Beach ready. Alternatively, do a me and throw it on with a leather jacket and some nice heels. Now we're talking. I love styles that can take you from day to night and lace is certainly the best for that.
I love the beautiful sleeves and the detail on the skirt, making it sexy but beautiful at the same time. I think lace is super classy. My nails were freshly painted in a beautiful nude by the girls at the Nails Inc champagne bar in Leeds, aka my favourite place to get my nails done.
The heels are simple, tie up ones which are oh-so-easy to walk in. You can get them online here. I never take them off. My trusty Ray-Bans can be found online here.
This beautiful dress can be bought online here from MissPap. You can get 10% off the whole site with promo code EMSHELDON10 if you fancy it too. Once photos were done (thanks Oscar!) we headed over to the city for a delicious dinner.
We went to try out the new After Dark menu at One Canada Square, a beautiful restaurant in the heart of the city. My tummy was grumbling but whilst the dress looks tight, it definitely leaves room for some food! The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night but we enjoyed the atmosphere as a pianist played for the evening. The service was incredible as soon as we stepped in the door and I'll definitely be heading to this area (Canary Wharf) in London more often. We wanted to eat here because on a Saturday, they offer unlimited drinks with your meal... how good is that? Count me in.
We filled up on prosecco as we talked through the menu.
Pea soup and beef tartare to start, before heading onto the red wine. I adore pea soup and this one certainly didn't disappoint.
We both ended our meal with steak, zero room for dessert as we were so full (it isn't like me to not have room for dessert) and I was careful not to spill the red wine down my new white dress. I have a new found love for red wine, I just need to be careful drinking it when I always wear white! All in all, the restaurant was amazing, it deserves so much praise. The steak was cooked to perfection and the setting was beautiful. We walked along the river on the way back to our hotel and Matt loved my dress which is always a bonus! I felt incredible in my all white dress and honestly had the loveliest evening.
