As much as I love America/Canada/Mexico and far away places, Asia? Yes please... there's something about jumping on a 2-4 hour flight to a beautiful place in Europe. Greece has always been a favourite of mine, it's somewhere I went every Summer during my childhood and probably one of my favourite places in Europe. The food is amazing and the scenery is stunning. Recently, I headed back to Crete for a relaxing break with the girls. It's time to talk about that!
Firstly, I'm sorry this blog post has taken me so long. My memory card decided to break on me and I had so many issues getting these photos onto my computer in the first place! We checked into our villa at Daios Cove, a beautiful resort nestled away in the hills. For five days, Daios became our sanctuary.
Perfectly quaint but still with atmosphere, this is the dreamiest of places. You can stay in your villa and have pretty much everything butler delivered to you if you fancy (we were guilty of doing this most lunch times) or you can hop on a golf buggy and be escorted down to the main area. We chose to have late afternoon ambles down to the main area to soak up the sea breeze. There's seriously so much to do not only in Daios Cove, but in Crete too.
Naturally we worked out whilst we were there. I'm not really a fan of indoor pools when abroad but how can one not be a fan of this pool?
We got a bottle of something sparkly and celebrated girl power. Nothing and I mean nothing is better than being surrounded by a group of 'girl bosses', working solidly and inspiring me every single day.
Ah that golden light - my favourite kinda light. Swimsuit online here and pretty much identical here.
Mornings would start with a dip in our pool, a wander by the sea and a delicious breakfast buffet. Whilst it was pretty perfect having breakfast hand delivered to our door (any food you can imagine), the restaurants and buffet at Daios were simply divine. They have everything you can imagine.
Playsuit online here.
Whilst playsuits are my favourite, I'm definitely happiest in my bikini so I stripped off pretty quickly.
Dress online here.
Oh and the cocktails were just as delicious as the food.
On our final day, we had to order breakfast to our villa. Who can resist these views? If you read my blog post about balance and why I hate diets, you'll know Nutella is definitely allowed.
Victoria, Carly Rowena, Tamara, Suzie, Amelia Liana!
You can watch the vlog below and a holiday lookbook from the trip too! Pretty please subscribe to me on YouTube here! It would mean the world to me. A luxury villa with the comforts and luxuriousness of a hotel. Perfect. I know I'll certainly be hunting for private villas more often when I go away now.
Book Daios Cove.
Do you like Greece? Have you ever visited Crete? Do you like girls trips?
Lots of love, Em x
