Every time Leeds festival comes back around, it brings back amazing memories. Since the age of around 14, I've been enjoying Leeds festival with my friends. This year, I was toying with the idea of flying somewhere exotic for the bank holiday weekend but no matter where I am in the world, I always miss Leeds festival when August bank holiday comes around. Lucky for me, Zalando invited Matt and I this year and we were super excited!
The tickets arrived and I felt that wave of excitement, the same wave of excitement I'd get when I was a kid, waiting for my tickets. We checked out the schedule and I noticed Red Hot Chili Peppers were playing, another childhood favourite. It was going to be a good weekend!
The weather in Leeds is unpredictable, as is the weather in the rest of the UK. On day one, it looked like we'd got away with it and the sun was shining. I love festival style, whilst Leeds festival isn't the same as Wilderness festival (everyone is so boho), you can still pretty much wear anything you like. I opted for this gorgeous leotard with a pink bodycon skirt and some Birkenstocks for comfort and ease. I knew just how versatile this leotard would be, so if it did rain, I could throw some jeans on with it. The whole outfit is from Zalando.
Matt looked great in some plain jeans, Ray-Bans and a crisp white shirt - also from Zalando. We knew that if it did rain, we'd throw a raincoat on top and be fine.
I had a fresh blow dry at Sassoon before day 1, no dry shampoo needed for me! I love this skirt so much, it was so comfortable and easy to wear. I piled on my Armani lipstick, I can't get enough of dark shades at the moment.
We arrived at the festival, I usually camp in guest camping or yellow but for once, after such a good experience at Wilderness, we wanted to do glamping. We checked into our hut at Pink Moon and were ready to experience Leeds fest for probably my 10th time!
I threw my wellies on as it got seriously muddy! Going to a festival is the best kind of exercise as the weather the night before had pretty much made Leeds festival like a swamp on our first evening, it rained for hours on end and it's safe to say that my blow dry didn't stay put for long! I'm so glad I took wellies with me!
Day 2 was much brighter and Matt's shirt miraculously stayed clean so I threw it over the top of my dress. I love getting my legs out and feel like festivals are the perfect opportunity to do just that. I found this dress on the Zalando website and fell in love with it, on the site, they layer it with a shirt and I copied their exact styling because I loved how it looked.
We wandered for miles through the mud but at least it wasn't raining on day two.
On the final day, I wore the outfit of my dreams. Plain black jeans and a swimsuit as a top. Another full Zalando outfit. I got so many compliments on this top and felt like it really fit in with our campsite! I've wanted it ever since I spotted it on my recent trip to Daios Cove in Greece and couldn't believe it when I saw it was in the sale on the Zalando site.
The final night of Leeds festival is always the best, it's always the muddiest too but I've never ever seen Leeds fest this muddy - the rain hit us seriously hard. Nonetheless, we jumped in the queue for pizza, drinks and cheesy chips (80/20 rule guys!) and prepared to watch some of my favourite old bands!
Rain aside, the atmosphere was amazing, Leeds festival, you never fail to make my happy - rain, mud or shine! I think it's time to sleep for a week now! Thank you so much Zalando for having me, I absolutely adored my outfits and found it so hard to choose from the website, they sell so many dreamy items from the dreamiest of brands. It's like Em's shopping heaven!
Have you ever been to Leeds fest? Do you like the look of it? Do you like my outfits?
*I worked with Zalando on this post but as always, it's 100% my opinion!
