Hello! Today, a really really exciting post and something I've wanted to write for quite some time... how to wear red lipstick just about anywhere! Red lipsticks come in all shades and somedays I'm in the mood for a bright red, other days, a pink, more recently, I'm loving deep tones. Today I decided to show you a few different scenarios where you can wear the perfect red lip and hopefully, you can find the perfect red for you too! I think a red lipstick is something quite personal to you, once you find your red, it's yours for keeps!
Look 1: Wearing Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 03 Hot Pepper to the office or meetings.
I threw this bright red on with a beige coat, leopard print top and some skinny black jeans for a casual meeting/office look. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 03 Hot Pepper is one of my favourites because it brightens up any outfit and makes my lips feel so hydrated. On the dullest of Autumn days, you can walk around with that pop of colour. The best thing? You can take this one from day to night. See below!
Look 2: Wearing Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 03 Hot Pepper on a night out.
The red lip and the leopard print top can be played down in the day-time with a nice Autumnal jacket, however, whip it off and you're ready to go out! Just by taking the jacket off and adding some heel boots my red instantly transformed to more of a nightout shade.
Look 3: Wearing Bourjois Rouge Edition 12 hours 46 Burgund'it (which is exclusive to Superdrug) for a day of shopping.
I'd be lying if I said this wasn't one of my absolute favourite red lipsticks, ever. Number 46 from the Rouge Edition 12 hours range is a pleasure to wear, with one swipe, you've got the boldest, most beautiful lip colour - perfect for Autumn. My boyfriend commented on how much he loved this shade. I feel like it's perfect for Autumn days but also, great to take you into Autumn evenings too. This lasts all day and I'd say actually holds better on my lips than the Velvet ones. I'm obsessed with the intensity of this colour. I paired it with my jeans, a plain grey jumper and my trusty suede jacket for an easy day time look.
Look 4: Wearing Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 19 Jolie De Vin for a lunch date.
The sign of a true good lipstick is how well it holds up when drinking coffee and eating burgers (balance is key!), it's safe to say Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (shade 19) passed the test. This is such a gorgeous shade, very similar in colour to the 12 hour version but it goes on and is a lot more velvety and I'd say, thicker and bolder because of this. Again, it's a really beautiful day time shade, particularly in Autumn, with a roll neck, chunky knit.
Look 5: Wearing Bourjois Rouge Edition 45 Red-outable in the office which then turned into an Autumn walk!
The Red in the City range includes the Rouge Edition Velvets and the Rouge Edition 12hr ranges, I've trialled them all and love them both for different reasons. If you're looking for a long hold, definitely go for the 12 hours but if you're looking for the most exceptional colours, then with one stroke, velvet is for you! Both of them are completely wearable for all occasions and can be taken from morning right up until evening which I love and both of them hold really well. I'm so impressed with the colours and know that the deep shades will be my Autumn favourites. The quality of these lipsticks blow me away and they feel so nice on my lips, particularly the velvet ones. Whilst the range isn't new, I felt it was a good time to highlight the best red lipsticks to wear seeing as Autumn and party seasons are almost here (crazy, I know!).
