Sri Lanka feels like forever ago, that's how long it's been. I'm really sorry for the delay in this post, things have been absolutely manic but I wanted to publish it now in the hopes that it inspires your 2017 travels. With 2016 coming to an end (how, when, why did that happen?) I wanted to look back on my favourite travels too, so that post will be coming up. Back to Sri Lanka, what an incredible place. First, make sure you read my blog post about Serene Pavilions in Sri Lanka and then head over to my blog post about Aqua Hotels in Sri Lanka. For our third and final stop, we headed to Levels, also owned by Cnataloupe hotels. I have to say, this was my favourite hotel on the whole trip. We wandered up the steepest hill and we were greeted by the most exceptional views and have already decided we'll be back at this incredible hotel. Let's talk!
I'd describe Levels as a small boutique hotel, but affordable luxury. We had the most epic suite, and unrivalled views of Sri Lanka. In LA, this would cost you thousands. I felt so happy and at home here.
We wanted to spend the majority of this part of the trip relaxing. It's something I'm not really good at but they make it easier at Levels. We chose to do most of our early mornings and day trips at Aqua Hotel and then relaxed at the beautiful Cantaloupe. How can one turn down this beautiful pool and view? Oh and cocktail happy hour.
By night? Levels gets even better. When you tell the drivers you're going to Levels, they all say how nice it is. It's definitely very highly regarded in Sri Lanka. Watching the sunset every night from here became addictive and that's exactly why I've already been looking at flights to go back here. The staff went out of their way to help us plan trips and give us recommendations. I've never come across such lovely, genuine and willing staff. I didn't stop smiling the whole time.

Like everything else, breakfast was a genuine pleasure at Levels. I'd say the food quality at Levels was better than Aqua but then again, it does cost a little more. It's definitely worth staying here for relaxation in Sri Lanka. Dinner was also insanely good and we ate traditional dishes.

My dream came true and we headed to Weligama and Marissa to do some surfing. Apparently the best surfing spots in Sri Lanka. It's safe to say I fell in love with surf school. It's a sport I've always wanted to learn.
In true Sri Lanka style, we ended our surfing lesson with some yummy food and a fresh coconut.

On our final day, we popped for lunch at The Owl and The Pussy Cat. I only headed here because originally had planned to stay here. I'm really glad we ended up staying at Cantaloupe Levels instead because the staff really made our trip seriously special. We spoke to them about the best local things to do, see and eat and they were genuinely interested to learn more about us too. It was such a friendly yet professional hotel so actually, it worked out really well! For me, service always wins. The Owl and The Pussy Cat was brought to my attention by Small Luxury Hotels, as you know, my favourite hotel booking site. Instead, we went for lunch there and the lunch was absolutely epic. It was cooked to perfection and was so lovely to sit in such a wonderful, quaint little corner of Sri Lanka. We honestly had the most amazing time on our trip.
