You Are Brilliant. Words Of Wisdom To Start The New Year.

We are really great at giving ourselves a hard time. Myself included. "My hair doesn't look good". "I don't like my face". "My work isn't as good as hers". "I'm a failure". But how often do you high five yourself and take some credit? Here's a new personal post from your truly, please do share this around to spread some positivity.
The other day with a group of friends I said: "let's go around the circle and say what we are proud of this year"...you know what? It was hard. People find it difficult to talk about their achievements. I get it, people don't want to come across as arrogant and people often hide their achievements so not to make others feel inferior, but you know what? Don't. Self love is to important and I want to promote that in 2017. If you've done something great this year, you are more than welcome to pat yourself on the back and say well done me! Similarly, if friends don't clap for you when you've done something good, it says more about them than it does about you. I am 100% proud and inspired when I see those around me doing well. It only fuels my fire and passions more.

Instead of thinking about what goals you didn't tick off (I definitely didn't drink enough water this year and I didn't reach my YouTube target because I didn't put as much time into it as I should). What have you achieved this year? What fabulous things have you done? No matter how big or how small. What emotional journeys did you get through? I promise, you will have achieved something this year and you know what? you go Glen Coco. You deserve to take a breath and just say: well done me. It may seem like you've achieved nothing, but I promise, you will have definitely achieved something this year.

So here's a little positive note from me to you, and to anyone who needs to read this: you are brilliant. Never compare yourself, comparison is the thief of joy. Sarah over there may look like she's had an amazing year but I bet she's had battles too. Never judge someone by social media or the chapter of their life you walked in on. More on that on my social media made me feel bad about myself post.

Let's spread some self love this year. Oh and if someone needs a little help with that? YOU tell them how well they've done this year! Giving someone else a little kick up certainly isn't going to harm anyone and it definitely won't dampen your achievements. A flower doesn't compete with the flower next to it, it just blooms. I was once told: compliment someone once a day, not only will it make their day, but it will help you too.

Just food for thought.

Wishing everyone the happiest new year.
