For as long as I can remember, long lashes have been my favourite thing. Ever since I was a little girl first trying out make up, I'd always be on the look out for the best eye lash curlers, the best mascaras (trust me, I've tried them all) and figuring out how to get the longest, flutteriest lashes. I blame my Mum, she always says how mascara is her holy grail item and can't be without it. She brought me up well, with a passion and love for mascara and eye products. Today I wanted to share all those years of trying mascaras and give you my top tips on how to get the longest lashes, including my absolute top mascaras. I also wanted to write up a beauty post, I feel like I've got a little behind on my beauty in the last two weeks so see this as an apology from me! Let's do this!
Top tips for long lashes:
Over the years, I've done lots of research into growing lashes, making them long and finding the top eye products, so here are some of them. I feel honoured every time I get my make up done or do a shoot when a make up artist says I have long lashes.
Double Up Mascara - My main piece of advice if you're wanting long, curly lashes? Double or even triple your mascaras. I find some mascaras are great for length, but they don't necessarily make my lashes dark, or thick so instead, I'll always have at least two mascaras in my make up bag at once. My current combo? Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes with Clarins Supra Volume Mascara, it means I get the length, the curliness and the darkness. The secret? Don't let the coats dry in-between, make sure you apply them straight after each other. I also find that with mascara, one coat for me just isn't enough, I like to apply multiple coats, sometimes three coats and sometimes even more. Shop Charlotte Tilbury.
Know How To Work Your Mascara - Different people apply mascara in different ways, me? With my mouth wide open, a face full of concentration. I also go from the bottom and slowly zig zag up my lashes to make sure they're completely covered.
Lash Tint - I was once told that when getting a lash tint, if you ask for the electric blue rather than black, it makes them look longer. I used to do this before going on holiday so that when I didn't have mascara on, my lashes still looked long. If I get my lashes or brows tinted I go to either Benefit or Shavata - they're both amazing and trustworthy.
Sleep In Vaseline - Another piece of advice I was given, apparently sleeping in Vaseline (put a little dab on your lashes) conditions them and helps them grow.
Shu Uemura Curlers - I've been using Shu Uemura lash curlers for as long as I can remember. If you ask any make up artist, they'll usually tell you they're the best. I've lost count of how many people have told me to use these over the years.
Don't Doubt The High Street - As much as I adore luxury beauty, when it comes to mascara, never doubt the high street. Some of my all time life-long favourite mascaras are by L'Oreal Paris. Proving that you don't need money to buy you a good mascara.
Use The Right Liner - For me, completely lining my eyes with black liner only makes my lashes look shorter however, I find using the nude side of my Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder liner (I picked mine up at World Duty Free) inside my tear ducts really helps to give me that big bushy wide awake look. I also highly rate Urban Decay when it comes to liners, their white liner looks amazing when used to subtly line the lower water line. It makes my eyes pop and makes my lashes look so much longer.

Shiseido Full Lash Serum - I've been using this wonderful little serum for quite some time. It's a small little tube but I promise, it's good. It's designed to promote rapid growth of the eyelashes and eyebrows, I apply it on an evening after my skincare routine and it helps condition, strengthen and stimulate growth. Online here.
Sarah Chapman Lash Boosting Cleanser - I've mentioned this far too many times recently, but it's because it's epic. I got it from SPACE NK and I've never loved an eye make up remover more. This is a triple action eye make-up remover, it gets rid of make up so quickly and easily whilst refreshing tired eyes, reducing puffiness underneath the eyes and promotes lash and brow growth too (some would say it's the most perfect product, ever). I also has ingredients in it to help visibly lift the eyelids and help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles, other ingredients aim to improve the condition and strength of your lashes and brows. Yeh, you could say this is the ultimate product to grow your eyelashes. Online here and here.

The Best Mascaras:
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes - I've featured this so many times and it's a long standing mascara in my collection. Two tubes down and it's nearly time for my third. This gorgeous gold tube does everything you want from a mascara and more. It makes my lashes super long, super thick and super curly. For me, the best thing about this is how thick it makes them. I put this on second, after my Clarins. The only issue with this is it does leak slightly under my lashes, I'd recommend applying it first so that it can leak then you can apply your foundation. This truly is my hero mascara though and is definitely a night out mascara. I'm wearing Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes on the two images above this post. Online here and here.
Clarins Supra Volume Mascara - The dream duo, Tilbury Legendary Lashes with Clarins Supra Volume Mascara. What a gorgeous product this is. I always say Clarins do the best mascaras and trust me on this one, they really do. I did a before and after Snapchat with just one coat of this and so many people said they'd gone and bought it afterwards. It gives the lashes the most incredible length you've ever seen. The reason I mix Tilbury after is to just make them super dark. This is one of the only mascaras I've come across that gives you long and thick lashes. This mascara will take you from day to night. Online here and here.
Benefit They're Real - There's a reason every single person you talk to has used this mascara and loves it. Benefit always get it right and their They're Real mascara is simply incredible. It doesn't give me thick lashes, but it gives me the most wide awake look, with long, separated lashes. I'm pretty obsessed with this for a bushy-wide awake look on a day to day basis. Online here and here.
L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara - This along with Rimmel Glam Eyes (no longer available!) is one of the best mascaras, ever. Go check out this little gold tube and I promise you'll fall in love. I always say it's the way the brush is designed on this that makes it so epic. This gives me the longest lashes, almost too long, they end up touching my eyebrows almost! I love L'Oreal Telescopic mascara for the longest lashes yet, plus, it's budget friendly. L'Oreal Paris have truly stood the test of time and you can't go wrong with any of their mascaras.
