Give me a hotel with a TV in the bathtub and I'll never leave. It's no secret that I'm a fan of luxury hotels, so when I stayed at The Arch recently I pretty much wondered if they'd allow me to become a permanent resident. I'm a sucker for a place that makes me feel like a real life princess. Tucked away in a beautiful London townhouse, this quaint little hotel definitely gets thumbs up from me. Matt and I love staying in hotels anywhere in the world, but staycations in London always make us feel especially relaxed, rejuvenated and happy. Yep, you guessed it, today's post is another date weekend in London with us. You may remember me mentioning my love for The Arch in my recent blog post about the top places to stay in London. I invite you to come feel all princess like with me.
Lots of love, Em x
The room was difficult shape wise to capture on a camera but you can watch my vlog at the bottom of this post for a full room tour. We had the loveliest suite, it was absolutely huge with a walk in wardrobe, office, bathroom and lounge area. As much as I love modern, I'm a sucker for British style Gatsby design and this is what The Arch reminded me of. Pure luxury, with high ceilings, luxurious sofas and the best bathtub. I only wish I could have stayed much longer than one night to soak in all the luxury. When I'm in London, I'm usually in back to back meetings and events, but if you're staying at The Arch, I'd recommend cancelling all plans and just enjoying the suite. I knew I was going to love it because it's on Small Luxury Hotels, my absolute favourite website for luxury hotels. I use them all the time and they never let me down.
After a long day of meetings, the only thing left to do was enjoy the room. I jumped straight in the bath.
We then sat and did some work in the gorgeous lounge area before getting ready for dinner.
We headed to the Hunter 486 restaurant within the hotel for an easy dinner. It was a genuine pleasure to be able to walk downstairs and be cooked for. I was once told that hotels always have the best restaurants because they can afford the top chefs. Since, I've really focused on trying to eat at hotels more.
Matt went for duck breast whilst I went for salted beef croquettes. I love how fabulously and deliciously British the menu at The Arch is. I've never tried salted beef croquettes but they were divine.
I went for a steak, being fussy I asked for them to make me a garlic sauce. The chef was incredible and catered to me so well, he made me a delicious sauce to dunk my steak in. Everything was cooked to perfection and I had a really happy tummy.
Matt went for the lamb shank and I have to say, the rosemary mash was incredible. He didn't share the lamb because well, who would haha.
Any restaurant with a cheese board on the menu is a winner for me, couple that with a chocolate soufflé and you forever have my heart. Our tums were seriously full and we were feeling super happy, just as we were about to leave, we were surprised with the loveliest home-made truffles. Another special treat which seriously impressed us. They were seriously delicious, what a lovely touch.
After the loveliest dinner, the following morning, reluctantly it was time to check out. The location of this hotel couldn't be more perfect, within walking distance to the best of central London.
I headed straight to Wimpole Street to do something I've wanted to do for quite some time, get my teeth whitened. Dr Richard Marques is known around London for whitening peoples teeth (in a non-harmful way). I've been really self conscious about one of my teeth for quite some time as it's a lot more yellow than the others.
Most people don't like the dentist but I really enjoy dentist visits. The whole process took one hour max and I did see instant results. I did read that I have to go back a second time so will definitely do that as after a few months sadly my yellow tooth is coming back out! Dr Marques seriously knew his stuff though and made me feel at such ease. He even let me listen to Britney whilst I was getting my teeth whitened. There was zero pain and he listened to all my requirements. He explained that my tooth *sob* might actually be dead so we may need to go inside it to whiten it next time. I just wish my teeth stayed as white as they did when I walked out, I know maintenance is key though! I left armed with my retainer and gel to use at home for up to 2 weeks. Everyone has said how much whiter my teeth are but I definitely think I'll go back again for a Simon Cowell fix. A lot of people have asked about the cost of this treatment but it's one you can pay for monthly, so it works out a lot cheaper. Dr Richard is phenomenal in every way and so friendly and professional. I can't wait to go back and see him. Check the king of dentistry himself out here, you wont regret it.
So there we have it, a little look into a whirlwind weekend with me! Watch it fully below on my vlog, if you could click here and subscribe to me it would mean the absolute world.
