Armani's Luminous Silk has been a holy grail product in my make up bag for quite some time now, actually, one of the foundations I wear on a daily basis. It only felt right then that I jumped at the chance to try Armani's new Power Fabric foundation. When it comes to beauty, I'm an addict, particularly with anything that promises a flawless base. A good foundation is like getting a good hair cut, vital, it's the foundations of your make up. Even though I'm not the biggest Kardashian fan, I am obviously in love with the way Kim Kardahishan's make up looks. It was when researching what make up does Kim Kardashian wear that I discovered Armani's Luminous Silk foundation, Kim's favourite. A celebrity fave and an Em fave (love her or hate her, there's no denying Kim Kardashian has the most flawless make up), this foundation clearly has a lot to live up to. Let's see if it passes my flawless skin test. Here's my full review of Armani Power Fabric Foundation.
Power Fabric is a liquid foundation that teams long-wear coverage with a luminous, lightweight second skin finish. I hope you can see on my images below just how lightweight and luminous it is. Please note, these photos have no primer, concealer or powder, they show simply the foundation alone with some mascara.
The idea behind Power Fabric is that is guarantees a flawless hold in any circumstance. I've worn this all day and it doesn't budge, so it's definitely wearable. If I had to describe this foundation like clothing, it would be elegant. It sits on the skin naturally and is light and comfortable to wear, almost like a silk blouse.
It's designed to enhance the facial features, dress the skin and erase signs of fatigue. It definitely gives me that instant awake look as you can see, with it's luminosity. I know a lot of people prefer a matte look, which is why I'd probably put some of my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder over the top (my holy grail powder, I've been wearing it to compliment foundations in shade medium to dark since I was 15) so the luminosity shines through still but not too much. You can see just how flawless it looks though without the need for a primer, a concealer or a powder.
It definitely delivers a long lasting glow, as shown in these images, it has absolutely no greasy effect and as I always say, Armani is highly underrated when it comes to make up, they use such incredible technology and skincare within their products, making them way more than just ordinary make up products but actually make up that works with the skin to fix issues such as fatigue whilst you wear it. This formula is extremely fine and it fuses with the skin for an easy, glide on and flawless finish.
It's the texture of the foundation that is interesting for me, if you get the chance, definitely swatch it on your hand. It feels light-weight yet almost powdery. For me, the coverage is buildable and I'm sure, with a good primer underneath (I'm loving Smashbox primer at the moment) and a good concealer (I love Benefit concealers) then this really is the dream foundation if you're looking for a luminous, natural glow. It almost feels like a light-weight skin-tint but the coverage is definitely medium to buildable. I guess this really is a multi-tasking foundation then, to take you from day to night but it's a genuine pleasure to wear, silk like texture, light-weight and a flawless finish. What's not to love? Armani does it again!
