Little Things That Make Me Feel Confident

Body confidence is something I talk about a lot and feeling confident is something I struggled with for a long time. I wouldn't eat infront of anyone, I struggled walking past people in the school corridors, hated walking into lectures alone and more. Today, I've delivered talks to hundreds of students, pitched myself infront of Dragon's Den Style investors and meet new people daily (and enjoy it!!!) I do feel like confidence is something that develops as you grow up and with life experience, but here are few little things I do that really make me feel my best and super confident. There's nothing like happy, confidence boosting endorphins. If you read my recent blog post about why it's important to love yourself first, you'll know I said how important it is to realise that being confident/happy in yourself doesn't mean you are arrogant, it's great to feel confident in our own skin, bodies and minds. Read on!

Stop comparing - I'd like to start by saying, with confidence, comparison really is the thief of joy. There will always be someone who is in a better position than you but also, someone in a worse one. You are how you were born and I think it's so important to embrace what your mama gave you! More on that on my love yourself post though.

Tan - Now, onto the fun beauty bits. I find a tan makes me feel so confident, I could feel really rubbish about my body but for some reason, as soon as I put tan on, I feel so much better about my self. I think there's something about having a glow that just makes you feel great. My favourite tans at the moment are Fake Bake Cocoa Brown and St Tropez Mist.

Underwear - Nothing makes me feel more confident than beautiful underwear, for myself, and no-one else. I once read that you should always wear beautiful underwear as a little gift to yourself every day, underneath your clothes, to give yourself that little bit of luxury, that only you know about. I really do think it works! Treat yourself. I'm loving ASOS at the moment and Agent Provocateur for beautiful underwear.

Smooth lips - lipivir® is a product I mentioned on my recent blog post about my 2017 beauty resolutions. My lips often hurt and the smoother they are, the better I feel. As lipivir® is the only product that prevents cold sores from occurring it massively helps improve self-esteem for those who regularly suffer from them. I wear a lot of liquid lipsticks so they tend to crack which kills my confidence in meetings, and because it can be applied straight before lipstick, I use lipivir® to ensure my lips are cold sore free and soft and smooth.

Moisturise - Just like tanning, I feel so confident when I've moisturised my body. It gives me that soft, smooth glow. I find moisturising so much easier in Summer for some reason but nothing makes me happier than having smooth legs.

Heels - For some reason, putting a pair on heels on really makes me feel confident! I treated myself to a pair of Louboutins for my graduation and they made me feel incredible all day. I feel like they completely transformed my outfit. I like getting dressed up.

Fresh blow dry - Not to mention getting a fresh blow dry, if you've read any of my hair posts you'll know that I felt like I completely lost my confidence when my hair was damaged, I lost my shield. But once I've had a bouncy blow dry, I instantly walk out and feel a million dollars. I love going to Sassoon for blow dries, they look after my hair whilst blow drying it too, using the best products and the best treatments too. I honestly feel like a queen every time I leave the salon.

The gym - Nothing gives me a confidence boost and those happy endorphins like doing a gym class. I go to David Lloyd and their spin classes leave me glowing and happy as well as feeling confident because I've sweated away. It's true, you never regret a workout.

It's worth noting, I do all of this for myself and no-one else. For me, confidence is about how I feel on the inside and it then I find it reflects on the outside. How do you feel confident? What are your favourite little things to do to boost your confidence? Do you agree with any of mine?

*I worked with lipivir on this post but as always, it's 100% my honest opinion.
