Autumn is well and truly here and boy am I happy about it. I absolutely love autumn, probably more so this year than any year. I'm sat here waiting for the trees to turn brown and loving wrapping myself up in all the teddy bear coats and my Burberry scarf. I'm keen to light all the autumn candles, stomp in as many leaves as possible and cover my lips in all the autumunal colours. Yup. I am the most cliche person ever, call me basic, but I love to embrace every season. I decided to go through my beauty cupboards and pick out some of my favourite autumn beauty products today just incase I wasn't already in the mood for autumn. Get cosy and enjoy!
I associate autumn and winter with different scents. Last year, Diptyque was my Winter scent and this year, I'm loving Molton Brown and Jo Malone. I absolutely adore Diptyque I just haven't popped into store recently to get a whiff of any of their newest scents. Jo Malone English Oak And Hazelnut is quintessentially British. It smells incredibly autumunal and was almost invented to be worn alongside a Burberry scarf. It's definitely a woody, enchanting scent. I love Jo Malone more than any words can explain. Molton Brown's Russian Leather Candle took a while but it's grown on me now and I cannot get enough. It's an intense, smokey smell but it really does smell of dark Autumn nights. When it comes to candles, Jo Malone, Molton Brown and Diptyque are always the best, with incredible new additions to their collections every season. I'm so ready for Jo Malone Christmas!
For the eyes, I absolutely adore autumn shades. I recently got the brand new, limited edition Morphe Brushes Copper Spice Palette from BeautyBay and couldn't be anymore impressed if I tried. Not only is it crazily affordable for such a beautiful palette, it's also full of the most stunning colours for Autumn, with perfect base colours and also crushed golds. It's as if this palette was made for me. I'm usually an Urban Decay girl when it comes to eye palettes and always will be, but trying Morphe has made me fall more and more in love. It's worth checking BeautyBay out as their products and brands are very different to anything you'll see anywhere else.
I used to love painting my nails in shade Victoria by Nails Inc, for me, that symbolised the start of Autumn every single year. There are so many incredible autumnunal nail shades out, my favourites can be seen above and include the following brands:
Marc Jacobs Nail Laquer - High quality, shiny varnishes which just look so classy and beautiful, the nudes and deep reds are perfect for autumn.
Nails Inc Dirty Unicorn glitter colours - They're beautifully iridescent but perfectly dark for an Autumn look.
Nailberry - Such a beautiful red shade, perfect as we head closer to November. Ultra glossy and without any nastiness inside it too.
essie - The shades from essie are always incredible and I love the metallic nudes for autumn.
I think the best way to get an easy autumn look is with a lipstick. I own far too many Autumnunal lipsticks and always say Burberry are best when it comes to this. Their lip velvets are heaven and the shades are the best for autumn. As well as Burberry, I love YSL for lipsticks. Their new Tatouage lipsticks have the best staying power and even leave a stain so there really is no movement. They apply like water and then suddenly go matte. They're non-drying though so your lips feel happy and smooth. A huge YSL beauty fan, I couldn't not recommend the Pur Couture The Mats too. It feels like all my prayers have been answered as my fave YSL lipsticks now come with such strong staying power and the best colours ever. Just don't do what I did and ruin them all by putting the lid on when they're not properly closed. I had to include Fenty Beauty holiday collection, which is full of deep purples and all the glitter for autumn. I highly reccommend the lipglosses to put over a nude matte lipstick. Similar to this is Ciate, their glitter lipsticks are incredible for autumn, let it dry and then rub your lips together for the deepest, glitter lip. Armani also do the most incredible lipsticks, I've always been a fan. Their lip magnets are super hydrating but matte lipsticks full of oils to hydrate the lips, unlike many matte lipsticks. Last but certainly not least, Smashbox because every single lipstick I've owned from them has looked incredible. They have every shade you can imagine and they never dry my lips out.
I'm a big fan of multi-tasking products and these two are my favourite autumn multi-taskers. First up, Clarins 4 Colour Pen I thought this would be a gimmick but it's really not. It's like the grown up version of the pens I used to love playing around with in school. It features four retractbale coloured tips and each is enriched with sunflower, jojoba and black acacia waxes, giving soft, comfortable eyelids and lips. It has three tips to emphasise the eyes and then a natural beige for the lips. It's basically the ultimate multitasker. Next up, Stila glitter. I have this in a few shades and love it, whether you use it as a liner, an eye shadow or even as a glow on the cheekbones. It's super glittery but you can get away with it as we approach the festive season.
When it comes to the body, The Body Shop vanilla pumpkin has to be the best range I've come across all Autumn. It smells incredible. I've sworn by The Body Shop body butters pretty much my whole life and that certainly wont change if they keep mixing it up with such delicious (not edible unfortunately but it smells good enough to eat) scents!
When it comes to glowing, Autumn is the perfect season. I don't think the highlighter trend is set to end yet, who doesn't want glowing skin? The Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe palette is a total dream, limited edition for the current season and provides the most intense flash of light for a bold, vibrant glow. It's smooth and velvetly giving the brightest highlight. I love the rose gold metallic powder. You've also got (coming in November) the most insane gold highlight from Bobbi Brown. Bobbi Brown have blown me away this year with their products and I am so excited for this whole collection to be released.
Phew, so there we have it. I just felt like rounding up my favourite Autumn products and going back old school for this blog post with a beauty favourites round up. Do you love Autumn as much as I do? Do you embrace every season? Next stop, bring on that Winter beauty!
