Christmas Party Essentials & Me Time This Christmas

another hotels the lake district
Ah another festive post from me (are you up to date with my Christmas gifting posts?!), so today I wanted to write a blog post all about Christmas party essentials and I guess, my ways of having me-time throughout the crazy month of December. Christmas is my favourite time of the year, mainly because it’s full of all the festivities, good food, good wine and my family are all together. It's not about what's under the tree it's about who's around it. It comes around incredibly quick though and I can’t believe we are already in December. It's my birthday on the 22nd so I don't really get into crazy Christmas mode until the 23rd! Birthday first then Christmas. Today I wanted to talk you through a few Christmas essentials because well, it is the most wonderful time of the year and it's just round the corner, so let’s do this.
yoomoo frozen yoghurts

You may recall me telling you at the start of this year that I’ve partnered with yoomoo, the incredible frozen yoghurt brand for their yootime campaign, all about looking and feeling your best. Obviously Christmas party preparation is a part of yootime hehe, I always push the importance of me time and I guess that's why I loved this campaign so much. Me time makes you look but mainly, feel great inside so I’m gonna talk you through my yootime, Christmas party style. There are a few things I always do at Christmas time and I hope you'll enjoy this post.

The Christmas snacks - First things first, Christmas is a busy period and snacks are definitely one of my favourite parts of it. Endless snacks from the Cheeselets to the pigs in blankets, but, if you fancy something more refreshing during all the party prep, yoomoo lollies are honestly delicious and low in calories too. The perfect refreshing treat if you get a little bored of all the traditional Christmas nibbles. They taste so refreshing and are actually welcome as something that isn’t a pig in blanket or turkey by the time boxing day comes around! So this year, when you're putting up the tree (we don't put ours up til really late) try a refreshing lolly!

The Christmas party dress - I do love a good Christmas party dress, for me, it’s all about Christmas Eve as that’s when I go out so I love to find a special dress for then. Nothing makes me feel better than a fresh Sassoon or Show Beauty blow dry and a new shiny dress on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, I hate to break it to you but I put new pyjamas on and just lounge around all day. Staying in is the new going out for me. It’s my pyjama and bath day and kind of one day of the year where I check no emails and actually have a day off. Oops but you know what, I feel my best then too because I’m having down time, with my loved ones and my only care in the world is about them. Shop my favourite dress ideas for the festive season above or watch my video here full of party dress ideas.

The Christmas lip - You cannot beat a Christmas special Christmas lip. I’m a sucker for a bright red and Dior have the most amazing red out for Christmas this year. There’s something about a red lip that instantly makes me feel festive and sparkly, I have no idea why but it transforms me and it's probably the one time a year where I go for a red lip. I also love a chrome/sparkly lip for winter, I think it's so festive. I think the key thing about all these things is they make me feel great and that's why I adore 'yootime' it's all about putting your wellbeing first. Read my blog post about festive beauty.

The Christmas sparkle - I love a bit of sparkle during Christmas, whether it’s on my dress, or, my highlight. I’m obsessed with Bobbi Browns highlight palette. I also love Christmas nails, essie for me do the best glitter colours and I love a speckled gold look. I love having the time to sit down and do actually my nails, I instantly feel rejuvenated and prepped. You can read about my favourite Christmas highlighters here. When talking about glowing, let's not forget about tanning. I know some people don't like tanning but for me, it instantly makes me feel so confident. I use James Read and Tan Luxe for the ultimate party glow, my favourites because they don't smell or stain my light coloured clothes but their light formulas make them so easy to apply.

The Christmas bath - I have the biggest, bubbly bath ever every single Christmas Day and have been doing this for years. What’s not to love about a steamy bathroom, all the Jo Malone candles, Lush bath bombs and just peace and quiet? I then slip into my new Christmas day pyjamas and have the best nights sleep after watching Christmas films, and this year? I'll be eating lots of refreshing yoomoo too. Nothing gives me me time lor makes me feel rejuvinated like a bath.

So there we have it, a few festive things that make me feel like I’ve had a bit of me time or, make me feel prepared and in the mood for Christmas. How do you feel about Christmas, do you love it or not? Are there anythings you do when party prepping? Have you tried yoomoo?
