There's something about cold weather that makes me want to get extra cosy and spend more time pampering (or wrapped inside my duvet). When the colder months come around, I do change up my skincare and my pamper routine, I spend more time in the bath, less time tanning and more time snoozing (beauty sleep is incredibly important). I find I need more soothing, hydrating products for my skin in winter because my skin seriously struggles and gets incredibly dry with the change of climates. Today I'm going to talk to you about winter skin pampering and some of my top winter pampering tips. I invite you to join me for a cosy pamper day in the Lake District. I recently stayed at Another Place Hotels on an exciting trip with Range Rover (more on that soon) and of course, in such a beautiful bathroom, I couldn't resist a little pamper session. This is in partnership with Aveeno.
I travel a lot and spend most of my life living out of suitcases but I always ensure I pack my good skincare with me, this time, AVEENO® came with me. You guys all know I adore skincare but I haven’t written much about bodycare this winter.
AVEENO® Skin Relief Nourishing Lotion with Shea Butter - This is formulated with naturally active triple oat complex and shea butter (shea butter is one of my favourite ingredients to put in body products as it makes my skin feel so soft). This product instantly makes my dry skin feel better. I have quite sensitive skin and I think that's one of the main reasons I love AVEENO® Skin Relief, it makes my sensitive skin feel soothed and hydrated without making me itch, it also sinks in instantly and keeps me hydrated for 24 hours, it's the kind of product where you still feel moisturised even when you wake up the morning after.
AVEENO® Skin Relief Restoring Hand Cream - I have a love hate relationship with hand creams. For me, they're often just too greasy and weirdly I hate having 'wet' feeling hands. This however is probably one of the best for intensely moisturising even the driest of hands but it doesn't make them feel sticky as it absorbs really quickly.
My routine? I'm quite lazy when it comes to skincare and prefer to be warm when moisturising, I hate getting out of a shower and feeling cold so number one tip for me is ensuring I actually feel warm. I weirdly find moisturising at my gym much more comfortable, maybe it's because it feels warmer than my bathroom! I go to David Lloyd gym and love nothing more than a pamper session post-spin class in their beautiful changing rooms.
My top winter pamper tips?
Switch up your skincare - As mentioned, switch up your skincare. I prefer to use more 'heavy duty' products for sensitive and super dry skin in winter!
Stick to your skincare routine - I'd say sticking to your skincare routine is key, I get quite bad in winter at actually remembering to moisturise.
Use the steam! - I use the steam to really get into my skin, whether it's a steamy shower or a super steamy bath, it makes me feel so relaxed and makes my skin feel soft. I love using Jo Malone candles for my mind too whilst I sit and let the steam work in the bath!
Multi-task - I hate feeling cold when pampering which is why I probably find pampering abroad much more enjoyable, so to make things quicker, I put my face mask on whilst I'm in the shower. It's all about multitasking! I then moisturise in my hot steamy bathroom post bath and slip into my dressing gown.
Dressing gown - Have your dressing gown on hand and slippers, put them on the towel rack first and you'll just feel incredibly relaxed and pampered when you slip into them!
So there we have it, a few pamper tips and a look at two Aveeno products for winter.
Have you used Aveeno? Do you have any winter pamper tips?
