I was about to say ‘summer outfits are my favourite’ but then I remembered, I love autumn, spring and winter fashion too. Uh oh. I’ve always been someone who’s fully embraced every season (I can be the Easter bunny, a Christmas fairy or a summer holiday, just ask) but I have to say, this summer is probably one of the best wardrobe-wise when it comes to what's available on the high street. If you watch any of my videos you'll know I’ve bought some versatile essentials and, to be honest, that’s what I’m about, rather than pieces I will only wear once. I know bloggers get a lot of stick for doing too many hauls and that's why I try to ensure I only keep things I'm gonna wear over and over again. Okay, so we’re not actually officially in summer yet, but my wardrobe certainly is. Today I want to show you two of my current summer must-haves in collaboration with Stradivarius; versatile, day to night outfits that are easy and light to pack into your hand luggage or suitcase. Let’s brighten up the weather with some summer clothes…
When it comes to summer clothes, I’m all for either clothes I can mix and match or clothes I can throw on and feel comfortable in but still look smart in. You don't want to be uncomfortable in summer and for me, the main thing about fashion is feeling comfortable and wearing clothes that I feel confident in. Quite often, I'll wear something a little too tight or too busty and I spend my whole night or day feeling self-conscious (not that you should ever feel self-conscious, work it girl) but I'm trying to find a middle ground, items that make me feel sassy and confident yet comfortable too. I think I found the perfect two here for your summer wardrobe (thanks to Stradivarius, who's items I've loved for a very long time). It’s definitely been one of those months where I’ve kept every single online order *sorry to my purse* but when you know, you know...
The Bardot dress - I couldn’t resist a cheeky bardot dress, bardot tops and dresses are quickly taking over my wardrobe. Take it from someone who’s owned many of these in the past, this is the ultimate summer number. Whether you’re wearing it by the pool or to brunch in London and then for cocktails after, you can really make this work for all occasions. They did this in navy too but I opted for mustard as feel like it’s so ‘summer’. There's something beautiful about this pattern as it's not often you see mustard stripes but it's a total yes from me for summer. You could even pop a belt around it in the evening. I feel like it’s really flattering because it shows off the shoulders nicely whilst hanging loosely below. Shop the dress online here.
My top tips when it comes to dressing this summer? There are no rules. Go into a changing room or place an online order in the comfort of your house and try things on! Have a little try on day at home. I think that's why people love hauls so much, we try on things we wouldn't ordinarily try and half the time, I fall in love when I do this. I guess you really don't know until you try something new. Maybe order a new pattern, colour or shape and give it a go. I do believe in feeling comfortable though so as much as it's good to step out of your comfort zone, you can still do that with a style your body feels comfortable in. Place an order, try something and don't be afraid to mix and match sizes either, I'm a totally different size in certain cuts, certain styles and certain stores.
