It’s always a good day when Charlotte Tilbury brings out a new product, you just know it’s going to be epic. The first Charlotte Tilbury product I ever bought was Pillow Talk, Charlotte’s famous nude lip liner. We all know Meghan Markle swears by and uses Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks too! This month, Charlotte has launched the next chapter of Pillow Talk, an extension to her universally loved and AWARD-WINNING (of course) Pillow Talk lip duo with her new, ‘Most Beautiful You’ blush and eye palettes, yup, she's only gone and launched a Pillow Talk blush and eye palette. Get comfortable as I review and have a look at these brand new products from Charlotte Tilbury.
The original Pillow Talk lip liner launched 5 years ago and the idea? It’s a 'suits all silhouette' and effortlessly enhances the natural lip line, I guess down to the success of this, she decided she may as well extend it and work hard to bring out two new products in the Pillow Talk collection.
I’ve met Charlotte personally on numerous occasions and have to say, she is the kindest person and puts SO much effort and love into her brand so I can only imagine how much has gone into the launch of these products. I guess it pays off, her brand is successful because the products are all incredible and she has put her heart and soul into them. As we all know, Charlotte is famous for doing make up for the likes of Victoria Beckham, as well as Victoria Secrets Models, Kim Kardashian and so many more so she really knows what she’s talking about and is queen of bringing flawless but beauty enhancing products to the market. Let’s discuss, Pillow Talk Blusher Swish and Glow and Pillow Talk Luxury Eye Palette.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Blush Review - The idea behind this blush? Your cheeks should glow with the blush of Pillow Talk every day, the beautiful and effortless lip liner colour, but for your cheeks. Just like the lip liner, naturally enhancing and taking you from boardroom to bar. This is designed to be soft, young, fresh and ‘just kissed’. I love a flirty flushed look and you can definitely achieve this with Pillow Talk blush. A naughty, pink with skin brightening, gold-flecked lilt (because Charlotte Tilbury always adds that extra bit of sass/specialness into her products). This blush is designed to mimic a dreamy complexion and add a natural pink glow. One swish applies a soft pink warmth to the cheeks whilst the glow section will give you Charlotte’s signature glow. Charlotte Tilbury’s Blush Application Tips - How to apply blusher like a pro:
SWISH -Add a pop of colour to the cheeks with the blusher brush
GLOW - Swirl the brush into the glow shade in the centre and apply to the apples of the cheeks and sweep up along the cheek bones
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Luxury Eye Palette Review - I’ve used a lot of Charlotte Tilbury eye palettes in my time because I find them so compact and lightweight but with shades I can actually use. In true Tilbury style, this is described as a palette for seductive, supermodel eyes. I think this is definitely one of the more girlier Charlotte Tilbury palettes and almost spring-like. This is designed to be a soft contouring palette with dreamy, fresh colours. Think pretty and pink. As with all Charlotte Tilbury palettes, this is designed to take you from desk to dusk to disco and has been created with the PRIME, ENHANCE, SMOKE and POP sequence which makes applying eye shadows SO easy (I like the idea of eyeshadow but I’m SO lazy with them which is why I prefer using easy palette like this, it's self-explanatory and I don't need to think too much when putting it on when rushing haha). It means you can dial them up or down depending on what look you’re going for. This comes in rose-bud pink, nude and taupe for a really dreamy but natural look. I don’t regularly use pink on my eyes but if Charlotte recommends it, I’m sold. I know the nude and taupe will be my most worn shades out of the four. Whilst this palette probably isn't my favourite out of Charlotte's palettes (I love her Golden Goddess collections for my brown eyes) I am going to try and leave my comfort zone, move away from the browns and keep trying these dreamier, fresh colours. Charlotte Tilbury’s Make Up Application tips:
- Use a blender brush and take the PRIME shade all over the lid up to the brow bone
- Apply the enhancement shade on to the lid and into the socket line
- Then use the SMOKE shade on the outer V corner of the eye and blend
- For nighttime, add a touch of the POP shade into the centre of the lid with your finger for a mesmerising look
Am I sold on Charlotte Tilbury's new Pillow Talk collection? I am a sucker for a good lip colour and liner (hello naturally small lips, I will use anything that makes them look bigger) so they’re more obvious choices from the range for me. I would spend all my money on lip products if I could. When it comes to make up, I'm all about complexion products and anything that promises a flawless finish so I do think the blush is for me too. I do usually go for more coral shades in blushes but I think this is really romantic, flirty and still nice and neutral. The eye palette is just a breeze to use so I’m sold and it means I can experiment with my colours a little bit more too, I do need to move away from those bronze tones and try something a little more dreamy but in true me style, I know I’m all over the taupe shade.
