If you've read any of my beauty blog posts you'll probably know I'm a bit of a sucker for good skincare. I recently wrote about my current top facial cleansers and the best facial serums and moisturisers. There's so much amazing skincare around and I love trying new brands and new skincare ranges (STILL hooked to my Neutrogena Hydro-Boost). I recently got my hands on the new Shiseido WASO skincare range and just had to write a review as it's one of the most beautiful skincare ranges I've seen in a long time, with such good ingredients. I also love the story behind it. I know my blog covers a lot of topics, whether it's fitness, a personal post, fashion or travel but I promised I'd go back to blogging roots a little bit more this year and include more beauty posts, old school reviews of new things I'm loving. If you love skincare, you're gonna love this Shiseido range.
Shiseido's WASO range was inspired by the holistic and natural Japanese food tradition of Washoku. WASO uses key ingredients like carrot, loquat, honey, tofu and white jelly mushroom to balance and build skins resistance to stressors, these epic ingredients definitely draw me to this range as I've never used skincare with ingredients like it. This range hydrates, targets oiliness and prevents the appearance of imperfections and is designed for all skin types. I love products that have natural ingredients in them, any excuse to slather goodness on my face. Let's look at the range.
Shiseido Waso Beauty Sleeping Mask - I absolutely love face masks and because I travel a lot, I'm always looking for hydrating masks. I tend to put them on my skin during long-haul flights or in winter, I'll even sleep in them so my skin drinks it all up whilst I sleep. This face mask is designed to be slept in. I can't wait to use this one as the weather gets colder (although, I'm not keen for cold weather to be honest). This is an intense gel moisture mask which uses botanical plankton to decrease the effects of fatigue and lack of sleep (where can I sign up for an endless supply???) as well as yuzu seed to promote promotion of hyaluronic acid. It honestly feels AMAZING on my skin, my skin feels baby soft. This is designed to replenish the skin throughout the night. Hello, 8 hours sleep.
Shiseido Waso Purifying Peel Off Mask - If you prefer to peel off masks (I do love a peel-off mask, it feels as if it's really working) then this purifying peel off mask may be the one for you. This is designed to peel away dirt and pollutants (perfect for my skin which is definitely polluted thanks to London haha) lodged in the pores. That makes me feel ever so slightly queasy haha but it's true, pollution can definitely harm our skin. This product uses Red Shiso to brighten the skin, loquat cells to break down sebum and it also has anti-blemish technology (yup, really) to targe3t the cause of blemishes and helps the skin be more resistant to imperfections. This feels as if it's exfoliating meaning it removes any dead surface skin cells and brightens the skin. See this as a 'reset' for your skin after a stressful day in the city! I do love any product designed to make my skin brighter.
Waso Shiseido Clear Mega Hydrating Cream - This is the perfect last step for your morning skincare routine, it's a clear cream that charges your skin with alllll the moisture (needed with this ever-changing weather!). It's formulated with whole carrot cells to hydrate the skin and keep it looking healthy and moisturised. I've never used carrots in my skincare before but I'm keen to try anything! The science within this product is pretty epic, it uses PhytoResist System+ which apparently helps heighten the skin's resistance to stressors. This is much needed for me as I feel like my day to day life puts so much stress on my skin!Shiseido Waso Fresh Jelly Lotion - I fell in love pretty quickly with Glossier's Jelly Cleanser so got similarly excited when I came across this fresh jelly lotion. This can be used both morning and night and aims to help restore the skin's moisture, say hello to dewy, plump skin. This product is formulated using white jelly mushroom extract. This is designed to be used on skin that has just been cleansed, I'd personally use it as a second step for hydration/a dewy look. It wont be replacing my jelly cleanser but it will definitely be a new addition to my HUGE skincare shelf haha.
Shiseido Waso Soft And Cushy Polisher - I love anything that claims to 'polish' my skin, Shiseido's polisher exfoliates and leaves the skin feeling SO smooth. I also adore Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (who doesn't) so I've always been a fan of polishing cleansers. This is designed to clear the pores and help reduce skin imperfections using plant-based cellulose granules. It's a whipped formula meaning it's a dream to put on the skin, it's actually formulated using tofu made from soybeans?! Again, something I'd never put on my skin before but it helps to smooth and support your skin.
So there we have it, a look at the Shiseido Waso range, if you love skincare, you'll love this.
