FitTrack Dara Smart Scale Review

Advertorial post - I've spoken about body composition many times over the last few years, for me, it's such a good way to move away from the sad step, the traditional scale and realise that a scale should be about so much more than one number: 'weight'. It's just not about that number, weight doesn't define someone. I first used a body composition scale at the gym, it was a way for my personal trainer to look into my health / body a little deeper so she could put a plan together for me. I was blown away, I didn't start using it to look at my weight, actually, quite the opposite, I found it SO useful because I realised health is about SO much more than a number on a scale and couldn't believe the different metrics. Now though, you don't need to go to a gym to get your body composition readings, you can use the FitTrack machine at home so today I thought I would review the FitTrack!

Fitness & Health; We need to remember that health is not a one size fits all or a quick fix, it’s something that is tailored specifically to you as an individual and this is what my personal trainer taught me when she first ever put me on a body composition machine. I was really scared but actually, it was so positive as I very quickly moved away from weighing myself and moved onto looking at more of the body. The scale isn't about tracking weight but it's about looking at body composition.

Fitness is personal so your goals are probably different to mine, my goals are to get stronger, your goals may be weight loss / weight gain / maintenance and I'm not here to tell you what your goals should be, it is such a personal thing and there is no right or wrong - ultimately its about what makes you happy.

What Is The FitTrack!?It really does what it says: it's a smart scale. Gone are the days of measuring your body weight, it's about what's going on inside. The FitTrack is amazing as it monitors 17 different metrics and it is so easy to use. You simply download the FitTrack app which is free and then step on the scale with bare feet (ensure you have your AAA batteries ready for the scale) and within seconds you have all of your readings up on the app. You just hold your phone in hand and the scale syncs to your phone with the app opened.

What Can You Monitor? I personally love monitoring my muscle mass %, obviously lots of people work out to build more muscle so this is a great tool to monitor progress in this particular metric. For me, I remember years ago seeing the scale go up, but actually it went up because my muscle % had gone up which is great.

Another thing I love monitoring is the hydration amount. This smart scale literally helps you monitor your water intake and let you know if you need to drink more water or not.

Next for me it's all about looking at the protein amount. I’m always trying to up my protein levels, it's something I am really cautious about (if you read my blog post about the best foods for protein you'll know I really upped my protein this year). With the FitTrack Dara you can track if you have enough protein in your body which is very important.

To me, creating healthy habits and a routine that works for me is so much more successful than just setting short term goals. I love how easy it is to see and track progress with the FitTrack DARA scale and I am so impressed with how quick and easy it is to use.
