It's no secret that I love Charlotte Tilbury products - probably a little bit too much, I've reviewed pretty much all of the best Charlotte Tilbury products but it's taken me quite some time to get round to reviewing the famous Airbrush Foundation by Charlotte Tilbury. Recently I decided to start writing reviews of the best holy grail beauty products (La Roche Posay Invisible Spray Suncream, Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation Review, Elemis Pro-Collagen cleansing balm review) - the products I have used and adored for years because let's be honest, these products deserve singular reviews and I hope it will help you if you've been trying to decide what to buy. It only felt right to write a review of the famous Charlotte Tilbury foundation today, if you were wondering whether to take the plunge and if Charlotte Tilbury products are worth the money or if Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush foundation is actually good, read this review.
As you can see, the foundation is battered, proving I use it a lot haha! I've gone through a whole bottle and need to buy a new one, I just love how my skin looks when wearing this.
I love foundation, for me, a good base (that includes good skincare underneath - first and foremost) is my absolute favourite thing about beauty. I've loved foundation since I was around 15 and discovered Clinique, Clarins and MAC - pretty quickly I was hooked. I switch up my foundations, with the seasons, with my skin concerns and have probably 5-8 holy grail ones depending on my skins needs. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Foundation made the top 5 best foundations and never really left the list. I've switched it out recently for Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation which to be honest, I cannot fault. The only reason I switched it out is because I ran out of my Airbrush foundation and it's good for me to try new things. You don't know until you try!
So what is Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush foundation? It does what it says on the tin, flawless, airbrushed skin. This is designed to be an all day, full coverage foundation but it has a matte finish. I love a high coverage foundation but my difficulty with high coverage foundations is that usually they break me out or look too cakey, the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Foundation doesn't look caked on or too thick and it importantly, feels lightweight on the skin too, it definitely doesn't break me out like some high coverage foundations do, actually my skin sits and breathes very comfortably. I take a lot of photos and videos and this foundation really does look flawless on camera too, if you're looking for a good foundation to wear on camera, this really is flawless and HD looking. This foundation is basically designed to nourish the skin whilst promoting an even complexion, it gives a smooth, natural look but is full coverage too and utterly flawless. It's basically everything you want.
So what makes Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush foundation so good? No Charlotte Tilbury product would be complete without some kind of special, magic ingredient and the Airbrush foundation has some serious goodies inside: it's infused with numerous anti-ageing ingredients to promote younger-looking skin (yes please) as well as being formulated with Magic Replexium® Serum which is a complex of two patented peptides - so it's basically skincare within foundation which I love. The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless foundation also helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and encourages firmer skin, it also includes an ingredient called C.T. Defence™ which protects against pollution - perfect if you're in a busy, pollution filled city like I am! In true Charlotte Tilbury style, it doesn't end there, this is also enriched with deeply hydrating Moss Cell Tech™to promotes long-lasting hydration. AirCool™ technology also provides a cooling sensation for comfortable wear. I love foundations that have extra added skincare benefits, it's almost like you're treating your skin at the same time. No wonder my skin is always happy when I've worn this foundation, it's like it's in overdrive working away whilst my skin is high coverage on the outside.
Why do I like this foundation? I personally love a foundation that doesn't even require a primer, obviously primers and concealers make the base look better but on lazy days or days when you don't want to pack everything, the coverage of this is so good, you really don't even need anything underneath. I love knowing that it's going to last all day and it really does, plus knowing that it has so much goodness inside it. It's the kind of foundation that when I wear it, people always compliment me and say how lovely my skin looks.
Negatives about Charlotte Tilbury foundation? The negatives of this foundation? When my skin is dry I do find it picks up the dry skin parts but right now I am having a MOMENT with dry skin, however I do notice this picks up those dry spots for some reason - it probably isn't the foundations fault and I need to be hydrating my skin a lot more before use. I wouldn't say it dries my skin out, it just highlights my dry spots throughout the day.
Key benefits of the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Foundation?
> Full coverage
> Matte finish
> Minimises the appearance of wrinkles
> Long lasting hydration
> Protects against pollution
> Sweat proof, water proof and transfer resistant
I personally don't like to wear foundation when working out but sometimes, I have to and actually, often I am dashing around so much sweating even just going between events and meetings, it is good to have a sweat proof foundation. I love knowing that I am protected from London pollution, this stays all day with no touch ups and it really just looks gorgeous. Usually, a foundation like this would break me out massively and leave me feeling caked but this really does quite the opposite, it makes my skin look smooth, flawless - amazing on camera... but doesn't break me out. I do love the added skincare benefits too. I would highly recommend this foundation if you like something that stays all day, looks flawless and is good coverage.
