I'll never forget buying my first ever Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, I was on the plane flying home from a trip and I was looking to buy something from duty free, the in-flight magazine sold it to me and I've been hooked ever since. This must have been back in 2010 now, so yep, I've officially been using Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream for over 10 years and my Mum and Grandma? We're talking decades. I thought today, continuing my holy grail beauty item blog posts, Eight Hour Cream deserved it's very own review on the blog. I wanted to give proper space to the beauty products I've used for years and the ones I'm always doing swipe ups for when they're on sale, so people can get a further insight into them and decide whether they're worth it or not (spoiler, they are). You may have already clocked a few of my holy grail beauty item reviews which you can read below, but today, it's time for a review of Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Balm and I'm giving you the top ways to use Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream too!

Holy Grail Beauty Product Reviews:
What is Eight Hour Cream? I always describe Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream as the multi-tasker, it's one of those products that literally can be used in so many ways. It's most likely a product that's been recommended by a Grandma, Mum, aunt or friend - I know for me, it's something every single person I talk to has heard of and every single person has their own way of using it.  It's designed to be a skincare classic to restore, calm and relieve chapped, cracked and dry skin - it soothes roughness, redness and minor skin irritations but it goes beyond this, with people finding new, inventive and genius ways to use it. I personally apply this every single night before bed on my lips as in Winter I generally get really sore lips and I wake up with ripped lips {TMI, sorry} - luckily, this fixes it. Even my boyfriend uses it for his lips too, it's one of the only products that soothes his dry lips. I also use this on sunburn, dry skin and pretty much everything in between. Generally, if I have a beauty problem my first point of call is Eight Hour Cream.

So what makes Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream so great? It's a combination of petrolatum - which is a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy and vitamin E - apparently Miss Arden herself famously used this to soothe her horses legs too!

How do you use Eight Hour Cream? You can warm a small amount in your hands and massage it over your face, apply it topically to minor skins irritations or massage it into dry areas such as elbows, knees and even cuticles - for an overnight healing effect.

Best Ways to Use Eight Hour Cream

1. AT FACE VALUE: Simply rub a dime-sized amount in the palms of hands to warm through, then pat onto the face to seal in moisture.

2. COMES IN HANDY: Deeply condition by working the formula into palms and over the fingers, then wrapping each hand for 10 minutes in a warm towel - it's so great for really dry skin on the hands.

3. HEEL-TO-TOE HEALING: Relieve weary feet by massaging the cream generously onto soles, pads and heels, then topping with cotton socks for deeper moisturization to heal dry skin. I personally hate having wet feet but this really does work.

4. A FLASH OF BRILLIANCE: Create instant radiance wherever skin normally catches the light, including legs, shoulders, collarbone, cheeks and bow of the lips.

5. LAVISH THE LIPS: With its effective moisturizing ingredients, this do-it-all wonder perfectly re-hydrates chapped lips - my personal favourite use, a sleep-in balm for my super dry lips!

6. THE MANE BENEFITS: In addition to its properties as a “skin savior,” the cream’s petrolatum and natural lanolin help smooth strands and moisturize dry ends - I find it great on greasy hair days, right before washing, almost like an extra mask.

7. FROST SMITTEN: It can be smoothed onto skin as protection from windburn, particularly when adventuring outdoors - this was my saviour during a ski trip, alongside Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream

8. KEEPING IT HIGH-BROW: Run the tiniest amount through eyebrows to groom hairs, helping neaten and define the arch - I know so many make up artists who do this.

9. AVOID TAN DISASTERS: Pop it over the cuticles, eye brows and any other bits you want to protect when fake tanning! I find it acts as a barrier so it stops any unwanted orange-ness clogging up around those areas!

So there we have it, my review of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, there are SO many uses for it as you can see above, it really is that product that's great to have in your handbag or bedside table - just incase!
