I've never met anyone who doesn't love Sol De Janerio, the original and best Brazilian Bum Bum Cream - aka one of the worlds best body moisturisers. I've been using it for years but recently I spotted my current girl crush Sofia Richie Grainge feels exactly the same way and loves the all new Sol De Janerio Bum Bum Cream.

It all began with the iconic sensation that is the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. This legendary cream is at the forefront of Sol De Janeiro's product line up. I'm sure you're wondering how do I pronounce Sol De Janerio Bum Bum cream? The correct pronunciation of Bum Bum cream is actually 'Boom Boom' and it was named after the Portuguese name for bottom or buttocks and is Brazilian slang for Butt - so apt!
I love so many of Sol De Janeiro's products but this has to be my favourite of all time and it's the first product I used from the brand. Sol De Janerio's Bum Bum cream actually works though too, it has literally achieved fame throughout the world for its transformative effects. Infused with guayana extract, cupuacu nutter and coconut oil it is a super hydrator and also firms while leaving the most delicious scent to transport anyone to the lively streets of Rio de Janeiro.

It seems that not only are Sol De Janeiro products a pleasure to use but they are also made using carefully selected ingredients and Sol De Janeiro say that they have banned the use of over 100 cosmetic ingredients such as parabens, sulphates and microplastics and only work with partners who support their commitment to sustainable sourcing and science-backed safe biomimetics. Additionally some of their body creams now also come with refillable options thereby helping the environment. Sol De Janerio do not test on animals and they are all dermatologist tested.

Sol De Janeiro 40 Perfume Mist - a sultry, vibrant fragrance of black amber plum, creme de cassis and jasmine, I think this is my favourite of all with the chocolate one playing a close second!
The Sol De Janerio Cheirosa range is aptly named after the January sun - this is when the sun reaches its highest point in Brazil. I love that Sol De Janeiro tie everything back to the sun and beaches of Brazil.
Rio Radiance Perfume Mist - Is a limited edition with tuberose and leite de coco. I haven't tried this one yet but as a tuberose and coco lover I can imagine I will love it.
Cheirosa '62 Eau de Parfum - soft florals and creamy sandalwood mixed with salted caramel.

What is the texture of Sol De Janeiro's body creams?
My Mum is literally a body cream expert - she body moisturises from head to toe every day to help combat the dry skin that has emerged in menopause and it is safe to say she thinks Sol De Janeiro are amongst the best. I asked her to describe texture and benefits of the ones she has used and she says that they are luxurious and creamy to use, sink in to the skin nicely and are not at all sticky and leave a rich and velvety smooth feel. She added that they keep her skin moisturised all day. Having used them myself For me personally, I just love that they dry quickly and they're not sticky plus they leave me smelling like I've stepped out of the Maldives. I would add that they are super nourishing and moisturising and have the most yummy scents. Formulations do vary depending on the ingredients that are used but in the main the above describes the texture of all Sol De Janeiro creams we have used.
Are Sol De Janeiro's products expensive?
The pricing of Sol de Janeiro products can vary and they are generally considered to be mid to high-end range. For context, body creams range between £21 and £48 depending on size, perfume mist £24 - £38 and Jet Sets are £30. I have to say, a little goes a long way so at this price point I do think they are value for money as they last. Put it this way, they make a beautiful gift.
