Today we're continuing on the theme of skincare because there is so much to say about it. It's true that a good facial cleanser can make all the difference in both washing away the day and maintaining a healthy, glowing complexion. If, like me, you're always wanting to try out different cleansers then stick with me and I'll always bring you the best options. I absolutely LOVE balm cleansers, or cleansing balms. They have changed the game in terms of quick, speedy cleansing so I am excited to be reviewing the balm cleanser from Clinique today.
When I try a new cleanser the non-negotiables for me are that they effectively remove makeup and impurities without stripping your skin. Today I'm reviewing Clinique Take the Day Off Skin Cleanser which lives up to the job incredibly well. I'm going to tell you all about this little gem of a product that has become a staple over the years in my cleansing routine.

Clinique is a brand that is a long time family favourite - starting with my Nanna who first introduced me to it as a brand that she used for many years and highly recommended to my mum as a teenager with problematic skin. It's a brand renowned for its commitment to creating dermatologist-developed products that cater for a wide range of skin types and concerns. The Take the Day Off Skin Cleanser is no exception. Having used this cleanser for some time now here are some questions I think you may have and my reasons why I truly rate it in and amongst my favourite cleansers:
Is Clinique Take the Day Off Skin Cleanser good at removing makeup?
The Clinique balm is a lovely silky texture and it effortlessly dissolves even the most stubborn makeup and that includes waterproof mascara and long-wearing foundations. When I use it I can literally feel it breaking down all traces of makeup and sunscreen and my skin feels truly cleansed with it.
Is Take the Day Off gentle on the skin?
My skin is a combination of oily and dry and if there is one thing I detest about some cleansers, it's when they leave any part of my skin feeling tight. This balm doesn't leave one hint of skin tightness. It transforms from a solid balm to a silky oil when you apply it, it feels silky, hydrating and luxurious and has never irritated my skin.
Is Take the Day Off suitable for all skin types?
Whether you have dry, oily, combination like mine or sensitive skin this cleanser works wonders. It's non comedogenic formula means it doesn't clog pores and it's an excellent choice for acne-prone skin.
Does Clinique's Facial Cleanser contain any nasties?
Clinique's Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is free from paragons, phthalates and fragrances ensuring it's a safe product for your skin. It does on the other hand contain the wonderful Safflower Oil that helps strengthen the skin barrier and helps prevent daily moisture loss.
How Do I use the Cleansing Balm?
It's super simple to use, I take it in the shower with me, scoop a small blob in to my palm and gently massage it on to my dry skin. It transforms in to a silky oil that really breaks down makeup and impurities. After massaging it I add a little water and it emulsifies in to a milky texture which really lifts away all the dirt and make up. I then rinse with lukewarm water until all the product is removed and then pat dry and voila - perfectly fresh and clean skin with not a hint of tightness.
Where can I buy Clinique's Take the Day Off Skin Cleanser from?
Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm is widely available for all your favourite stores and offers to happen all the time. Here are some of my useful links:

How much is Clinique's Take the Day off Skin Cleanser?
125 ml costs around £32 whereas a 250ml is around £52.
You might be wondering if Elemis Cleansing Balm or Clinique Take The Day Off is a better cleansing balm and I'd say they're slightly different, they do the same job but the Elemis Balm is a different texture, I'd say a little softer and more oily / natural whilst the Take The Day is a little thicker.
In summary, The Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is a game-changer in the world of facial cleansers. Its ability to remove makeup effectively while being gentle on the skin makes it a must have. It's non-irritating and is suitable for all skin types and I'm a loyal fan.
