Hello everyone, if you're into skincare, you've probably heard about the Pixi Glow Tonic. It’s one of those ultra favourite products that everyone raves about, and for good reason because it has literally transformed my skin.  Glow Tonic has become a must have in my beauty routine lately. But what makes it so special I hear you ask? Well, in this post, I’ll cover all the key questions you may have about Pixi Glow Tonic, plus a little about Pixi as a brand and why Glow Tonic is totally worth trying!

Can you believe, Pixi was founded over 20 years ago by Petra Strand, a makeup artist and skincare enthusiast with a passion for creating multi-tasking, innovative products. Pixi’s ethos is all about achieving that fresh, natural 'just had a facial' glow and I'm here for that eu natural look. Their products are infused with beautiful botanicals and skin-loving ingredients. Based in London, Pixi has grown to be a globally loved brand, offering everything from makeup to skincare.   The Glow Tonic remains their star product and certainly a favourite of mine.

What is Pixi Glow Tonic?

The Pixi Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner that has gained a well deserved cult status for its ability to provide brighter, clearer, and smoother skin. It's infused with 5% glycolic acid, an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that gently exfoliates the top layer of the skin, sloughing away dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover. It also contains aloe vera to soothe and hydrate the skin, and ginseng to energize and promote circulation, giving you that glow from within feel.  I can testify that my skin feels super smooth once I have used this, it's one of the most effective exfoliators I've ever used.

How do you use Pixi Glow Tonic?

Using the Glow Tonic is super simple! After cleansing, just soak a cotton pad with the tonic and sweep it across your face, avoiding the eye area. I always try and use upward movements.

How often do you use Pixi Glow Tonic?

You can use it once or twice daily both morning and night, but if you're new to acids, start with every other day to avoid any irritation. My skin is used to acids and I've had no problem with using this product daily.

What skin type is Pixi Glow Tonic suitable for?

One of the best things about Glow Tonic is that it’s suitable for almost all skin types! My skin is combination and it works great for me.  Whether you have oilycombination, or normal skin, it works wonders in evening out texture and brightening the complexion. However, I will always caution, if you have sensitive skin, it’s best to use it sparingly to see how your skin reacts. We all have very different skin so it is important to make sure you try any products you use cautiously to begin with.

What Does Pixi Glow Tonic actually do for your skin?

Glow Tonic’s magic lies in its ability to:

  • Exfoliate: The glycolic acid gently removes dead skin cells to reveal smoother, fresher skin underneath. I still get wowed now by how smooth my skin feels as a result of using it.
  • Brighten: With regular use, your skin will look more radiant, thanks to its ability to even out skin tone.  Just the removal of the dead skin cells helps to make skin look brighter.
  • Smooth: It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and rough patches.  Fingers crossed this will protect me in to old age!
  • Hydrate: Aloe vera ensures that your skin stays soft and hydrated, counteracting any dryness from exfoliation.  Hydration is a big one for me.  I can feel my skin drinking Glow Tonic when I apply it.

Can Pixi Tonic help with acne prone skin?

Yes! Because it exfoliates and unclogs pores, Glow Tonic can help with mild acne and prevent future breakouts. However, for more severe acne, consult a dermatologist before adding glycolic acid to your routine.

Can Pixi Glow Tonic help with hyperpigmentation?

Glow Tonic is great for addressing mild hyperpigmentation and dark spots, thanks to the glycolic acid that promotes cell turnover, which helps fade discoloration over time.

Does Pixi Glow Tonic contain alcohol?

No, the Pixi Glow Tonic is alcohol-free, which makes it less likely to irritate the skin compared to toners that contain alcohol.

How long does it take to see results from Pixi Glow Tonic?

I'll be honest, the exfoliator is so good, I felt some results after the first use and I'm not kidding.  You can start seeing consistently smoother, more radiant skin after a week of regular use, and for long-term improvements in skin texture and tone, I gave it  4-6 weeks.

How does Pixi Glow Tonic compare with other toners I've used?

There are tons of toners on the market, but how does Glow Tonic compare to some of the great ones I've used? Here’s a quick overview:

  • The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution: Around £11.50 for 240ml. The Ordinary's option is stronger (7% glycolic acid vs. Pixi's 5%) and comes at a lower price point. However, Pixi’s formulation is more gentle due to the addition of aloe vera and ginseng, making it better for those with sensitive skin.

  • REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic: Around £24.00 for 250ml.  REN’s version is also an exfoliating toner, but it contains both lacticand azelaic acid, making it a bit more targeted toward pigmentation and uneven skin tone. It’s a bit pricier, but I'd say this is a great alternative if you're looking to switch up your AHA routine.

  • Alpha-H Liquid Gold: Around £42.99 for 100ml.  Stronger and more intensive, Alpha-H’s toner is designed for overnight use and works more like a treatment. It’s excellent for more mature or damaged skin but might be too harsh for beginners in my view.

How much is Pixi Glow Tonic?

It is generally priced at around for 100ml.

Is Pixi Glow Tonic worth it?

I think Glow Tonic offers fantastic value for the high quality exfoliating benefits it offers.  With its gentle but effective formula, it’s a great addition to any skincare routine, especially for those looking to improve texture, tone, and radiance.

Where can I buy Pixi Glow Toner from?

It can be bought from a range of on-line stores including:

Pixi Glow Tonic is my new go to skincare staple for a reason. Its brilliant at exfoliating and brightening which means it's perfect for anyone looking to achieve smoother, glowing skin. Whether you’re new to acids or a seasoned skincare pro, give Glow Tonic a try and I don't think you will look back.  Please though when using exfoliators, remember to use SPF during the day, as exfoliation can make your skin more sensitive to the sun!

Lots of love, Em x
